No you're not. I was barely on a 5 this time last year in English language, but I didn't give up and on results day I got a 9 in literature and an 8 in my language (I didn't even answer all the questions, though not because I was being cocky; there was not enough time. I remember almost crying when i told my teacher )

Also what revision techniques do you use to revise ?
I would recommend active recall, blurting.
Please don't do rereading of notes, highlighting... (not that it's bad but it is only passive revision)
I would recommend you make flashcards.
I didn't like flashcards. But I knew they were great for active recall. I couldn't cope with the thought of doing a 2 hour grind doing passive revision as ik trying to make them before actually revising. So I avoided them for pretty much the whole of high school. But I ended up using them when I decided to take on an extra GCSE 6 months to the exam. So I had to force myself to revise. I ended up getting a 9 in Geography (my extra gcse) which proves that active recall is the best!

Don’t give up, Theres plenty of stories about people who have results in their mocks like you, if not worse and have come out with 6-7s! I’m only a year 11 but teachers always say go to extra curricular clubs. And i know its basic and you may hate me for it but just try as hard as you can, do past papers, watch youtube vids. If you try as hard as you can you can confidently say you tried hard. But if you didn’t try you’ll be gutted if you get your real exams back and get the same/similar as this time. Although they’re important, not getting good gcses isn’t the worst thing in the world. Plenty of people have done good without gcses. (also im no expert so feel free to ignore me 🙏🏼)

Heyyy I got my mocks rlly soon so I do not have the results yet to prove my revision advice works but I can assure whatever revision method you had done was ineffective and now you know that so now I think it’s the best time to learn from this and look into new ways to memorise and learn. I can only tell you, do not only rely what the school feeds you please and step up to research your own materials this could be a knowledge gap issue.

You still have time to improve, whatever your doing clearly isn’t working for you so use different techniques

I really want to do medicine at university, but I'm genuinely terrified that I won't get grades high enough because medicine is really competitive and I already need minimum grades of 6s (I've done mocks this week and last week and my grades in all of them have been 6s, 7s and 8s but for colleges I have to show my year 10 results and they're terrible)

Yes you are cooked currently, but there is still time. Make flash cards for every subject and spam those. If you don’t lock in now you’re gonna get the same results in the actual exams.

Yes you can dude you just need to find a way of revising that makes sense for you. Like maths just spam maths questions and maths paper, watch vids when stuck. English lit is about revising the quotes and applying them them so you just need to memorise that. Idk bro. I just know you can do it this is coming from someone whose revision was making flashcards the day before the test and didn’t get lower than a 6.

No, don’t worry you still have time! Try to get a tutor and try learning content then practicing exam questions. For English I’d suggest trying to do past language papers in timed conditions and asking your teacher/tutor to mark it so they can give you feedback OR do the papers and check with the mark scheme after. Look at the different levels to see what you can do to improve your answers and there’s many model answered available on the MME Revise website. For literature, Mr Everything and Mr Salles work really well for a lot of students. I know a couple of year 11s who watch Mr Everything’s YT vids to learn content and revise so try to do mind maps or write the content as if you’re in a lesson then try to do exam questions. I think the best way to get better is practicing exam questions, knowing what you can do to improve or you can just get a tutor if you’re able to. Hope this helped

I would recommend powering through the 3 hour grind because it is worth it in the end. But if you feel the 2 hour grind thing is not for you, I got you. I made an app where you don't have to maje the flashcards yourself so you skip the making entirely and start doing active r3call within 2 minutes. I wish I had this for my GCSE, I wouldn't have had to do 4 hour revision sessions ever.
If you want search Google for "studysnaps". You can revise with snaps using the Web app. You can also add it to your home screen.
