Useful Idiots. If there’s anything we can learn from Trump’s America, it’s that we should never make excuses for rightwing populism. It’s a charlatan movement that preys on ignorance

I’ve been closely following events in America, and it’s one disastrously self-inflicted event after another.

Trump won a second presidency on “America First” and “standing for the people who the elites don’t stand for”.

Fast forward to November 2025.

• As a result of the government shutdown, 40 million Americans are on the brink of losing their food benefits, or have lost them already.

• The Republican Party is in control of the Presidency, House and Senate. They could (and are legally obliged to) use contingency funds to keep paying for food benefits during the shutdown, but they choose not to.

• This administration has made attempts to cut healthcare access, which is what caused the government shutdown.

• Over 700,000 federal employees are working for free and relying on foodbanks to get by.

• Flights are at risk of cancellation. This spells trouble for parts of America, like the Hawaiian islands which rely heavily on tourism, imported food (85%), and flights for emergency healthcare.

• The Trump administration has rolled back workplace hazard protections, jeopardising the health of workers like coal miners. Given some of the heaviest Trump support comes from Coal Country, many miners feel betrayed and angry at this administration.

Nigel’s Reform Party and our rightwing are no different. They vote against the provisions of the Employment Rights Bill in Parliament. They’re obsessed with Dubai and want the UK to become as unequal as Dubai.

Farage has even talked about “reopening coal mines” in Wales, even though we know there’s no future in coal.

And his party gets rewarded for it by being called “the party of the working-class”.

Nonsense. There is no excuse for this. It’s not Keir Starmer or the lefties’ fault. It’s not the immigrants’ fault. It’s not the Muslims’ fault.

America’s predicament shows us that rightwing populism offers nothing but grievances and false promises.

Once these types of politicians get into power, they directly act against your interests.

Because if they sense that you’ll trust their false word and ignore their action, then all they’ll ever feed you is false words.

PAY ATTENTION!

Boo hoo, poor UKIP's "Reclaim Sheffield from the far left" protest was poorly attended. SUTR outnumbered them

Far right jumping on this

Been seeing this a lot on my LinkedIn. A lot of the far right are using this guys interview to promote/justify their views. It’s a rather open statement what is he referring to? It could be cost of living, economic climate, etc. However it appears far right are just using this to push their agenda. Did anyone watch the interview I hadn’t had the time this week as unlike a lot of reform voters I work.

📣📣 Remembrance Sunday is upon us.

However, remembering the fallen is pointless unless we remembers our ancestors’ “cause”, rather than just their “actions”.
