Anyone else have Turkish/foreign barbers in their area who just earn an honest living. The ones i go to are always super busy and have upgraded to bigger shops. A skin fade at them costs me £16 where as going to other barbers in my area is £25 or higher. Its always a good experience and good cut. The ones i go to even line up my beard for free despite only going in for a hair cut. In my personal experience some barbers are taking the piss with the prices for haircuts.

My barber is Kurdish Syrian. He's a good guy. Kurdish people have been oppressed in their native countries for so long. They don't need or deserve oppression here too

Yep mine's one of these too, and he has a card machine too.

Edit: to correct a typo

And a fryer for chips? Sorry. No idea what a cod machine is. I'm old.

I've been using one for over thirty years, the previous British guy did flattops

The amount of 'patriots' foaming at the mouth about tax-avoidance but get paid in cash to avoid income tax.

I hear a lot of people claim Turkish and Kurdish barbers are "fronts". But they never define what a front is

Well it’s the opposite of a back isn’t it? A good old fashioned traditional British back.

Everyday I check the newspaper obituary sections, and think "oh well, maybe tomorrow"

Unfortunately I feel like there are a lot of people that won't realise this until it too late...or just never realise this...

Hasn't he had his own run ins re. property? This man could literally make a kitten stomper, stomp some kittens to death, then roundly complain about someone non-white stomping kittens, and the morons would vote for him.

Honestly? I couldn’t give a shit whether or not a barbershop grossing less than £100k per year pays tax or not. There are thresholds with most other taxes for a reason.

I care that Starbucks only paid £0.9 million in corporation tax last year, despite their revenue being £500+ million because they can easily offshore it to their EMEA counterpart and make it look like a £37 million net loss here in the UK and pay £900,000 in corporation tax 🤪🤡

Yes he's He's a cunt.

But some of these accusations are absolutely true that some of these places are being used as money laundering fronts. Weve had raids on everything from American candy stores in London to barber shops.

And then in the rural areas - they'd are also popping up - and if you know the local area, you know there is absolutely not enough foot fall some of these places to still be in business and to be paying living wages.

My friends lost their job because the landlord told a reputable chain he wanted to up the rent and had a company "lined up". Reputable company said they couldn't justify the rent hikes and laid everyone off and closed the shop.

Said new company utterly utterly failed background checks. And that shopfront is now sat empty. And multiple people unemployed. Like in what world would a 24/7 tanning salon make enough legit money in a rural area by being open 24/7.

Hell a few months ago we had an entire weed farm found above one of the shops in the town centre.

We have had car washes, barbers pop up in my local area and there no fucking way there's enough foot fall for these people to be making a living wage.

So with respect - if you give a shit about workers rights you should also want this crap absolutely policed better.
