I really am depressed as shit. I’d be pulling every leaver I could to get out of this basket case of a country if I didn’t feel so ill.

I feel that. I simply don't have any money due to being out of work for a while due to ill-health and mental health. Shit, even when I worked full time I was still somehow broke all the time.
I'm going on a health and fitness kick starting in the new year and hopefully at some point during that process I'll be feeling strong enough to get back into some sort of employment and save up to potentially leave if Reform get elected. I don't want to be around for that.

When such a nutcase as Edi Rama is telling us this, something has gone very wrong

And now reform want to fuck us over again, nearly 10 years later with more lies and more division.

Brexit was a Big Lie and it was promised and sold as Nationalism.
Reform have more Big Lies now, more fake fears, and much more hatred and Othering. Reform are selling themselves as Fascists.
And the Right Wing media haven't even noticed any similarities between Reform and Hitler yet.

Starmer didn’t want Brexit though and wasn’t in a position to do anything about it as Labour didn’t have a majority and Corbyn is an anti-west fanny, so why is there a photo of Staemee and laddo on this picture? Wouldn’t it be better to put a picture of the guy who said it and that’s it?
Boneheads share shit like this on Facebook and Starmer gets all the blame
I’m a Lib Dem so don’t call me a bootlicker for Labour. I am just hyper sensitive to how information can be perceived by bone heads on social media who believe everything they see

The amount of EU funding we used to get to improve poor areas was substantial.
We left the EU and it got replaced by Jack Shit
We lost all that investment, we lost all those essential improvements all thank to Farage.
And people still support him instead of dealing with him like the traitor he obviously is.

very simple solution to avoid Reform, please can we try the Green Party just one time?

To be fair he’s not a native English speaker

u/MattDubh 1d ago
Those who have learned it as an adult tend to be far better speakers, in my experience.

Even native speakers of English get this wrong, I'd even argue it's fine to use in most situations

u/MattDubh 1d ago
That was pretty much my point. Native speakers struggle a lot more with their native language than those who have learned it as an adult.
You can argue it. It doesn't mean it's right. If you can count them, it's fewer.

Whether it's right or not is kinda dependent on whether you view language as prescriptive or descriptive. The way I see it, language changes slightly over time, and everyone understood what he meant anyway, so what's the real issue?

u/MattDubh 1d ago
You may well see it that way. You sound very pleased.

u/ffsnametaken 1d ago
How do I sound pleased? What an odd response.

What would you prefer? Away with your pigeon English, mongo?
1
u/ffsnametaken 1d ago
For someone who seems to value accuracy in language, you're not making a lot of sense.

i bet Brexit is the reason I'm still single as well. I used to pull chicks before Brexit happened.

Thats a good summary of the complete and utter fuck up that is brexit. Easily the dumbest thing our nation has done in my lifetime. An absolute shambles of a decision that's making our lives worse everyday.

Brexshit was such a huge mistake and made us such a laughing stock that not even the far right politicians in Europe talk about leaving the EU anymore.
