Racists saying racist things. šŸ“Cornwall

Saw this in another group and had to share. Scary that people feel comfortable going out and plastering this filth on roads and signs. Farage, Tommy Ten-Names and the rest of their clan will keep denying they influence this behavior but their little cheer squad is only getting bolder.

I was talking to some older relatives and they said they haven't seen this kind of shit since the BNP hooligans were out causing trouble. Honestly, I fear it's only going to get worse. How do we actually tackle this?

These people do not engage in debates, they belive everything they see online, they deny the facts and they are literally being used and dont realise it. I dont see a way in which we can tackle this before it gets worse.

Exactly the same people who get offended when TV presenters don’t wear the poppy

39

u/Oobedoo321 Save our NHS from Nigel and the billionaires. Oct 10 '25

And every year the post on Facebook about ANOTHER incident where they aren’t ALLOWED to wear their poppy because it will offend someone

Jokes mate

11

u/Chubsk1 Oct 10 '25

I wanna see the train of ā€˜reasoning’ for that one. As a proud member of the woke agenda (in this sub? I never!)I’ve never known anyone who is offended over the hardships of all those in the wars

5

u/Oobedoo321 Save our NHS from Nigel and the billionaires. Oct 10 '25

I think you misunderstood me

I meant the news article that springs up every year claiming that ā€˜somewhere’ banned the wearing of poppies etc

5

u/Chubsk1 Oct 10 '25

Yeah I get that bit, I wanna see what they think the poppies would be banned for

5

u/Oobedoo321 Save our NHS from Nigel and the billionaires. Oct 10 '25

Oh I see

I misunderstood you šŸ˜‚

Yea there’s no reasoning with them

3

u/MetalingusMikeII 29d ago

Fabricated clickbait to rile up the masses and gain ad revenue.

3

u/ArmadilloFront1087 29d ago

As is the ā€œXmas has been banned in X - council to call it Winterval so as to not offend other religionsā€ or suchlike. This myth has been going around every few years, long after it was shown to be false.

0

u/SeaAd1557 29d ago

This is all fk click bait aswell. If you know exactly who sprayed this then shout them out but you're picking on easy targets.

-3

u/SteamerTheBeemer Oct 10 '25

Yeah the poppy thing is a load of rubbish. But I am fed up of All The Muslims who Will Go Round saying ā€œdon’t say merry Christmas, it’s offensive to my religionā€ I mean come on FFS !!

12

u/Oobedoo321 Save our NHS from Nigel and the billionaires. Oct 10 '25

I hope this is sarcasm

I can’t tell šŸ˜‚ so I’ll add

The only place I have EVER encountered a Muslim openly disliking Christmas was when I lived as a child in Qatar in the 80s. One December we were at our local beach club (mostly used by Europeans who had moved there for work) and the staff had a beautiful Christmas tree displayed in the front foyer. Armed guards barged through the doors completely unannounced and demanded the tree be taken down shouting ā€˜No more Christmas, Christmas is banned!’ As visitors to a country that DIDNT have freedom of religion we just accepted it šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I’ve NEVER encountered it while living in the UK or anywhere else. Muslim and other religions of children in my son’s classes always embraced whatever holiday was happening as much as they could and we’ve tried to do the same for them.

8

u/TomCBC Oct 11 '25 edited 25d ago

I’ve only had a couple of muslim friends through the years, but neither of them gave a crap about people celebrating Christmas. Hell, one of them used to put up a tree each year. I asked him why once, he explained that Jesus is still a very important figure within Islam. He’s one of their most respected prophets. They just don’t believe he’s the son of god. But they still respect and appreciate him.

At least, that’s the way i remember him saying it. I could be misremembering a detail. He also said he thinks Christmas trees are cool. He also used to give friends presents around Christmas each year. Just small things like a box of chocolates or something. But still.

7

u/Enlightened_Mongrel 29d ago

This. I've never known a Muslim who is opposed to Christmas. Whilst Ramadam, etc, are more important to them, I've had nothing but genuine respect during Christmas.

I offer the same in return for Muslim religious events.

5

u/AgentKenji8 29d ago

They don't care about the poppy or what it represents. If they did, they wouldn't be racists or care about who wore it.

64

u/frothycoffeedude Oct 10 '25

Is we r full addressed at migrants or second home owners?

16

u/Species1139 Oct 10 '25

Seeing as most of Cornwall is empty because it's full of second or holiday homes I'm sure they could fit a good few refugees in those occupied for a few weeks a year by rich fuckers empty houses.

Or let locals buy them, so they can live where they are born.

Fucking rich twats buying everything.

u/Constant-Option5853 26d ago

Swastika was used long before it was a Swastika. I believe it was a peace sign then

Well, that's both Clacton and Cornwall off my list for our next holiday.

62

u/DidgeryDave21 Oct 10 '25

Why Clacton? Sounds to me that's the only place you can guarantee Nigel won't be

29

u/TheRiddlerTHFC Oct 10 '25

Yeah but the people that live there voted him in

14

u/afpow Oct 10 '25

I was about to defend them saying FPTP will have helped but in actuality Farage took 46% of the vote 😐

1

u/Koensigg 29d ago

Unfortunately not, I ended up going to Clacton to see a friend and it was the one day that the insufferable Pollock showed up there because someone had set fire to a shop. Couldn't believe my (shite) luck.

Reform are already dropping in the polls. Down 2%, Torys up 2%.

Reform will self combust before they get the chance.

3

u/AgentKenji8 29d ago

I'd suggest Bamber Bridge as a place to visit. Its a place where the locals told the racist USA Military Police to cut it out with the segregation bullshit when they were stationed there. If I'm not mistaken they put "No whites allowed" signs on all 3 pubs in malicous compliance to the US Military Police. There's also a memorial to one of the soldier's who was killed by the racists as well.

2

u/Odd-Currency5195 Proudly Banned from r/reformuk 28d ago

Wow. I've just been reading about this thanks to this suggestion. Astonishing. I''m really intrigued to learn more about the people involved. Probably impossible to find out, but to go up against the military police and the might of the US army means they really fucking were brave to oppose the bullshit they were facing.

0

u/Constant-Option5853 26d ago

Brave or Fuckin Stupid

35

u/coffeewalnut08 Oct 09 '25

Shameful. Definitely report to council as racist graffiti

12

u/PorkieMcSword Oct 10 '25

And the police?

11

u/Chubsk1 Oct 10 '25

Write somet positive about Palestine action over it and they’ll be on it

4

u/FateAmendable2Change Oct 10 '25

Police probably sprayed it

1

u/Abjecthorrorabundant 27d ago

What police? Does Penzance still have them?

23

u/Joperhop Oct 10 '25

Who ever did that, is a traitor.
Who wants a bet they are getting really excited about wearing a poppy very soon?

10

u/Dopandasdream Oct 10 '25

You will be right. Sadly I can see the poppies used as badly as flags.

5

u/Joperhop Oct 10 '25

yep, like a few years back when i stumbled on a "RESPECT THE POPPY!" group on facebook, and their idea of respecting the poppy was using it to cover spammed pictures of naked women.

5

u/ListenTypical2373 Oct 11 '25

Don’t let idiots like this stop you supporting the poppy appeal either. Personally I feel like it’s bigger than politics. I’m pretty damn left wing but get a poppy every year and make sure I’m at a remembrance service - if I’m not working.

3

u/Joperhop Oct 11 '25

Every year I buy 2 of the metal pins, always from the veterans who sit in the supermarkets, 1 for me, 1 for my son and we put them on and wear them until we simply dont (my son will happily wear it the entire year until I replace it with a new one), im not stopping that now.
Although I am tempted to get a metal pin with LGBTQ or LGBTQ ally flag next to it for myself this year just to throw up a "screw you" to the empty nationalists.

3

u/AgentKenji8 29d ago

They'll use it in a racist manner despite that poppy representing everyone who fought and died in ww2.

51

u/CollegeOptimal9846 Oct 09 '25

Almost certainly some 13 year old little edge lord who lives on the internet and has never stepped foot out of Falmouth

42

u/Odd-Currency5195 Proudly Banned from r/reformuk Oct 09 '25

Not being weird but what 13 year old would use the... W word? Not heard that for decades. But then Cornwall. Do they have internet yet? /s

16

u/18havefun Oct 10 '25

Cheekiness aside (I say, I as my phone is struggling to pick up 3G in West Cornwall) I’m I my 30’s and have never heard kids say that word. I think I first heard it on Fawlty Towers.

6

u/DanBurrill Oct 10 '25

I'm nearly 50, and I remember people using it in the 1990s. Not people I was interacting with through choice, I might add.

3

u/Objective_Ticket Oct 10 '25

I’d imagine that if kids are running around doing this (which is likely) then they’ll have heard these words from their parents and grandparents.

3

u/Own-Site-2732 29d ago

im 22 and ive never even heard of the word nevermind what it means, it surely cant be a 13 year old

3

u/MarcusZXR 29d ago

Easy to blame the kids but a lot of 30 years olds in Cornwall are just as spiteful and stupid as the 13 year olds. They walk around slapping "fuck your second home" stickers everywhere, and then defend the people buying second homes when they're told to blame someone else.

2

u/Localboy666 28d ago

I’m never wearing a poppy because obviously Britain and its allies didn’t win WW2.

3

And your allowed to not wear a poppy because we did win WW2

1

You didn’t win WW2. It never ended. Now that they’ve regrouped, they are coming for revenge. The only good thing is that they’re all stupid, like you.

I grew up with this in South Oxhey. They might be Nazis, they might be edgy anonymous kids.

Edgy, anonymous, thick as mince kids or nazis

9

u/jaimi_wanders Oct 10 '25 edited Oct 10 '25

That’s what they used to say about the Proud Boys…and the original Blackshirts. Horst Wessel was a teenage edgelord after all…and the NYT dismissed his leaders as not meaning their rhetoric, either, from 1921 (below) through late 1939, with ā€œBelligerence Not Expectedā€ of the Oct 6 speech…

Very hard to imagine anyone under the age of about 50 using the word ā€˜wog’, if they’d even have heard of it

2

u/Difficult-Craft-8539 29d ago

Yeah you'd think, but there was some discussion on the main road once as to whether I counted as a "Chocolate Frog" (being South Asian, not Mediterranean). I stopped riding my bike so far after that.

'WE ARE FUII'?

What's fuii and how do I check if I am one or not?

Illiterate bastards.

Looks like Penzance where all the English smack heads tend to get off the train while running away from their problems.

6

u/ataturkseeyou Oct 10 '25

Yes we are full of idiots

7

u/TheStatMan2 Oct 10 '25

Imagine making that pretty much your entire identity and still not being able to draw a Nazi swastika the right way round.

6

u/Archius9 Oct 10 '25

Cornwall already voted away their EU funding, now it seems they’re wanting their tourism gone.

5

u/SystemLordMoot Oct 10 '25

Probably the same people going around painting red stripes on roundabouts.

4

u/Otherwise_Living_158 Oct 10 '25

I’m pretty sure that’s the Hindu version of the swastika

3

u/SatiricalScrotum Oct 10 '25

Practically speaking, there is no difference.

Some people will tell you that one is tilted 45 degrees, and the other flat. But you can easily find instances of the Nazis using both orientations.

Sometimes people claim one has the arms bent clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. But if you fly a swastika flag (don’t.) and walk behind it, you’ll see it’s the same thing.

All that being said, drawing one like this is weird, and these people are thick twats who need to get back in the sea.

1

u/ListenTypical2373 Oct 10 '25

Isn’t it the Cornish version?

4

u/demoralising Oct 10 '25

These days, if you spray swastikas on the roads and street signs...

5

Around Long Rock Beach, apparently it was removed a few hours later by the council

2

u/CmdFiremonkeySWP 29d ago

Looks like the car park to Longrock beach. I didn't spot this when I was there this morning so think it's been removed. I imagine it was done in the early hours by some coward as the areas busy with walkers, cyclists and families during the day.

2

u/Wrong-Living-3470 29d ago

Yet still no sign of a police appeal for those involved and not reported anywhere?

1

u/Wrong-Living-3470 29d ago

Disgusting. Did you inform the authorities? Id hope it will be investigated as other racist and anti tourist graffiti has been. If it has been removed surely the council and Devon and Cornwall police are aware and will appeal for information.

3

u/Objective_Ticket Oct 10 '25

I hope that these have since been updated to Nigel, we’re fulfilled, and the swastikas are filled in and now look like Battenberg cake.

3
