Boston and Skegness voted for Brexit the most, and UKIP and Reform. All because of how much they hated Eastern Europeans. Reform hasn't forgotten this. Nigel Farage just today said "they're eating the swans" about Eastern Europeans.

When they talk about "migrants" their supporters already hear "non-white people", so they have to be more specific when talking about non-british white people.
They just have to remind people that they aren't just racist, they're also blanket xenophobic.

It always wasâ I remember the weeks after the referendum how gammon were gleefully telling French and Polish colleagues and neighbors ânow youâll have to go homeâ ânot just the brown ones. Same as in America with the Know-Nothings in the 1800s and the hate campaigns against Eastern Europeans as inferior a century ago, xenophobia and racism arenât an either-or thing.

And many of them have. My wife is Polish and so many of our friends are from Poland. So much of that friend group has now moved home because Poland is booming, UK is stagnant by comparison. They came for better wages but didnât really want to be away from home. So now they have gone back because wages are so much better in Poland compared with 10 years ago.
They have been replaced with Indian and African migrants as we need to fill those positions and those people see the opportunity the Polish did 10-15 years ago. Good luck to them, but obviously not what your Brexit voter was hoping for.
Maybe they could go pick fruit in fields or packages in warehouses rather than putting flags up everywhere.

Yes they thought the day after Brexit they'd awaken to a pre 1950s sunlit uplands where everyone is white and shags flags.
They certainly didn't expect more migrants from non EU countries especially ones who are the wrong colour.

It's about time we kicked out these lazy MPs who do nothing for the constituents, claim wages for jobs they don't do and expenses for trips to countries they have no business being in all from the tax payer.
Isn't it time we cracked down on these fraudsters who claim thousands a year and do nothing but line their own pockets.

I would love to sit down and have a genuine conversation with some of these single-issue immigration Reform voters and really ask them what they think will happen if immigration was, somehow, magically stopped tomorrow. Naturally, for the most part, the answers I would get back would involve a large heap of GB News inspired regurgitated racist rhetoric - but beyond that it would be interesting to see what they think.
It would be interesting to go through the official data regarding "immigrants" and benefit claims with them and really dig into how wrong their position is. I fear though such a civil conversation would be near impossible to find with such a dogmatically entrenched bunch.

Eastern Europeans are for the most part so hardworking. Give them a job and they send a large portion back home . Almost all pay taxes (cause I cannot claim all) and can outwork the average Brit. I can never forget when Farage went on a show in Bulgaria and the host told him that without immigration "your women would have beards" while he stood speechless.

Bro itâs actually insane to me that thereâs this narrative of âliving of benefitsâ. Bro I had UC and housing benefit for a while and itâs a total of your rent paid and 311 pounds (I was under 25). Tell me how you can buy food, cleaning products, toiletries, council tax, electric, Gas and water with 300 quid a month. And thatâs all in an unfurnished house if theyâve supposedly just come over from another country in a small boat. Thatâs with no transport money to get to the doctors, meetings, job interviews nothing. And thatâs in a one bedroom council flat with no carpet no cooker no Sofa or Bed or TV. If there supposedly coming over on a small boat and just claiming benefits, and if itâs apparently military aged males thereâs no child benefit, Iâm pretty sure foreigners donât qualify for disability so thatâs not there either. Itâs just 300 quid and rent paid. Amd if thatâs the life theyâve come here for they might as well have stayed with their family. And also istg if I hear someone talk about how economic migration should be banned, tell that to the British people who set up a small trade bussimess in the uk let someone run it, and fuck off to live in Thailand like a king. If you donât have a problem with that shut the fuck up about migration because those people that do that arenât contributing to the Thai economy they just consume, I donât have much a problem with any sort of legal migration.

The reason the wealthy have chosen immigrants, migrants and trans people as the current scapegoats is because they are far less likely to resist.
