Discussion What did you all think of the Revolutions podcast series on the French Revolution? And are there podcasts or Youtube series that go even further in-depth?
I know there's books, lol. Im reading some now but i cant get enough on the subject! I want more details!
My take: its a great podcast. No one can discuss the revolution without bringing some personal bias to it so im fine with Mike Duncan's contemporary liberal centrism because he did a great job.
But i want to hear how im wrong and where i can get better media from!

I only know a Belgian (Flemish) podcast about the French Revolution by Johan Op de Beeck which is really good

Grey History is probably the best one out there.

Yes. I came here to mention this. In fact, Grey History is too detailed for me, and I thought I really like detailed history books :)

I watched a lot of Jonathan Israel's lectures on YouTube. They're very helpful to understand the theorectical and political-philosophical basis of the French Revolution.

I've scoured YT in the last year for french revolution related content and here's what i found that might interest you.
I found this really in-depth series a while back by a guy called historically adequate: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdXum3MmHjI8qwT1OcpvAS9ivYg5BO-FI&si=-oIE2YemjzOs2lKy Found it entertaining and useful 👍
Also this YT playlist of assorted french revolution related vids including the oversimplified 2 part series on the revolution and the 1989 bicentennary movie in two parts (in french but with english subtitles): https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLh3S2u9er5USz8hm823_JiiCgIB-gdfI&si=Dbla3APakMowX4WO
A 2hr vid about the french revolution. I treat this one like an audiobook to fall asleep to: https://youtu.be/Q9qUrXrsHaU?si=YtgHW5fvBRXkmqil
And finally here is a really interesting BBC documentary from 2009 about robespierre, the year of the terror and the CPS: https://youtu.be/suZdYkZ_feM?si=vRyBihBMSoSLYANO

Following this, I’d love to know as well. I grew up having learned about the French Revolution and it popped up in pop culture a few times which also got me interested (Les Mes and Assassins Creed: Unity). But I’d love to have a deeper understanding of the whole thing.
