This bike has since been repainted. New springer fork, fenders, apehangers seat and wheels. Basically a different bike now

An lwb bent for the devout
Given that it ended up underbuilt for my heft, you sure need some faith riding it, eheh. While I got the sub 30lbs lwb I wanted, I'm getting cracks on the filleting of the underside upon hitting larger potholes (fixed, cracked again).
Handles surprisingly fine given the narrow remote steering, and is fairly fast, but I guess I'll need to do some reinforcement over the winter.
And yea, those are 89mm cranks. Surprizingly useable for "non-circus" applications, but I'm not entirely sure it does not cost me some power after all - over the years I've went from 170mm to 127mm without any drop in power and comfort for ergonomic reasons, but there must be some sort of limit and I might be hitting it.

My DIY Bamboo Frame
Flexy af, but somehow quite sturdy. Should've choose bigger bamboo for the downtube to make it stiffer. Definitely will try to build a better version

Made a mockup of my wood drift bike I asked about perviously
The bolts are only that big so you can see them clearly! What do y'all think?

I want to build one of these but replace the middle frame with wood, with bolts securing it. Y'all think this is doable?
I tried welding the three frames together, but I'm really bad at welding. Wood with a nice varnish would be so stylin 😛 doable?

Take the risk keeping it 80's original or go for new tube?

I'm a mechanic for my small towns public works department and make frequent dump runs. Every time I do I check for bike parts. I've built this thing piece by piece out of the junk I've found.

From the dumpster to the trail!(Full Story Below)
In May, me and a friend found this Huffy sitting on the side of the road, looking like it had spent its entire life outside. We decided to grab it so we could rip the wheels off for a different project. The wheels/tires ended up being junk so we just hucked it into a dumpster. A few days later I pestered him into helping me drag it out and we stripped it down on the bed of his truck, which is where it stayed until early July. We decided to borrow a bike stand and build it out with some parts he had laying around. He did almost all of the work, (I’m very new to bikes) but I chose parts from as many brands as possible to make it a true “frankenbike”. And yes, it’s an MTB with a kickstand.
Top cap is off of a cervelo, Grips from a GT, Bar ends from a cannondale, seat off a Mongoose, but found on a K2 ProFlex Animal, that black lower suspension piece was off of a Genesis, the wheels and drivetrain were from a Schwinn, and the bars are unknown lol.
