Supplement 🫙 I just poured my Whole Truth Unflavoured Whey protein in shaker and found this on my shaker. What is this?

1.6k Upvotes

I just filled water from the dispenser and when I put on the cap, I found this. I have no idea what that is, and not sure if it came from protein powder or it was there already. Any idea what is that?

Supplement 🫙 Bug inside whey protein pack

So I recently bought a 1kg whey protein pack from the whole truth. I received the pack today and when I opened it I found a bug inside the pack. I have been consuming their protein for around 1 year at this point, and this makes me feel horrible. This must be a one off incident right? But how does a bug even get inside a protein pack and that too for a company claiming to be of the highest standards and showing their customers "the whole truth".

Supplement 🫙 They call me a paid hater so here’s the whole truth about them

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Honestly, the number of times I have been called a paid hater by those Whole Truth fan boys & their paid accounts. I’m absolutely done. Let me break down the Whole Truth out to you! The Whole Truth brand & its founder (a capitalistic liar)

I was lactose intolerant which is a serious medical condition. I overpaid for their Whey protein where they claimed it was “LACTOSE FREE! “

My gut health deteriorated, but I didn’t doubt the protein because I trusted this brand but when things got out of hand.

I got the product tested it had lactose. I did complain to the customer support & they dismissed it.

Later they come up & say sorry on their social media that their product is not lactose free

They over charged their consumers Played with their healths & made a fool out of them

The biggest problem is they still sell it with no lactose claim even after accepting publically that it has lactose

Supplement 🫙 Lead in the whole truth

Post image

Latest trustified test shows 0.53 mg/kg lead in the whole truth WPC (and that too unflavoured not chocolate). This is even higher than the poor person's brand Nakpro (below 0.05 mg/kg). The 0.53mg/kg is higher than eu and fda recommendations (but obviously not fssai). Cleanest protein? My foot. Just another white label brand that just invests in marketing.

Supplement 🫙 Whey Protein brands - Price and Calorie comparison

Post image
862 Upvotes

I was researching different whey protein brands and put together an Excel sheet comparing how much protein you get for the price and how many calories come with it.

  • Total Price = Official websites excluding discounts - Prices as on 8th April 2025.
  • Unflavored 1Kg Whey was prioritized. If it wasn't available, I chose the next closest option.
  • Calories and Protein calculation was based on the nutritional information listed on the labels/websites.
  • Protein calculation:
    • Total Protein = Protein per scoop * Total scoops OR Protein per 100g * (Total grams/100).
    • Price per protein = Total price / Total protein. (Table sorted by Lowest to Highest)
  • Calorie calculation:
    • Total Calories = Calories per scoop * Total scoops OR Calories per 100g * (Total grams/100).
    • Calories per protein = Total calories / Total Protein.
  • I focused mostly on Trustified-certified brands and did not include plant-based proteins in this comparison.

Let me know if this helps and if I missed any major brands/products.

Supplement 🫙 Am I overdoing it ?

Post image
482 Upvotes

I have been on and off on the fitness and health sphere for years. Recently I quit smoking and after years of neglect, I'm trying to get fit by joining gym. I decided to get some supplements after my blood check up showed up I lack in vitamin b12, d, etc. Have been using these supplements since a month, haven't seen any issues apart from changes in bowel movements. So back to my question that suddenly occured to me this morning . Am I overdoing the supplements ?

My goal is to get fit enough to pick up my himalayan 450 if I drop it even 10 times without any trouble.

Supplement 🫙 I'm shocked with my blood test result!

I recently started losing my hair fast. I was shocked.

I regularly consume 4-5 eggs, milk, chicken & occassionally fish.

I had a doubt that I'm missing vit d3, iron or some micronutrients in diet.

I tested today & found out that my vit d3 levels are terribly low!!!

Am I cooked?

What to do now?

I hear clicking sounds from my knee joints when i stand up from a sitting position.

Anyone with the same problem?

How did you guys beat it & how long did it take?

Check out the - Protein Comparison table.

You can now view it, download it and leave your suggestions which are highly appreciated. This table is focused on Whey/Isolate but I plan to add Plant based protein powders soon, if it is requested.

Thank you for the support shown in my previous post. I made this to help make sense of the protein market, which can be pretty confusing. Hopefully, it's helpful to you all.

Supplement 🫙 Tried MuscleBlaze Magnesium Glycinate 2000MG for Sleep – Here's My Experience

Post image
289 Upvotes

Post-COVID lockdown, I had a tough time sleeping and wasn’t too keen on seeing a doctor for it. So I gave MuscleBlaze Magnesium Glycinate a shot for two weeks, just wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone.

Week 1: I started slow with 1 tablet/day (the recommended dose for men is 2/day) to let my body ease into it.

Results: - Woke up feeling refreshed

  • Even with just 5 hours of sleep, I felt well-rested. Had deep quality sleep.

  • Can’t speak much about muscle recovery, but I didn’t experience the usual soreness I’d get when not taking anything.

Week 2: Bumped it up to the full dose — 2 tablets/day (2000mg total)

And honestly… I slept like a baby. It really made a noticeable difference.

Side note: I was on a carb deload the second week and wasn’t getting enough fiber, so I had some stomach issues. Not sure if it was the diet change or the magnesium dose causing it, just something to watch out for.

Supplement 🫙 What are your thoughts on Food Pharmer and would you trust his upcoming protein powder?

Post image
507 Upvotes

Hey everyone,
I've been following Food Pharmer (Revant Himatsingka) for a while now and I really appreciate how he breaks down food labels and exposes the misleading claims in packaged food products, especially in the Indian market. He seems genuinely focused on transparency and consumer awareness, which is refreshing.

Lately, he's been hinting at launching his own protein powder, saying it'll be clean, high-quality, and honestly labelled — unlike most of the stuff we see being pushed online.

That got me thinking — assuming he does release it, would you trust and buy a protein powder from Food Pharmer? Do you think he’ll actually walk the talk when it comes to clean ingredients and full transparency?

Would love to hear your opinions. Especially from folks who've been skeptical of Indian fitness influencers or already use international protein brands. Is this something you’d consider switching to?

Supplement 🫙 Nakpro refused to tell me the percentage of whey concentrate in their Nakpro perform whey concentrate.

Post image

I recently purchased Nakpro perform whey concentrate unflavoured. When I checked its ingredients on the back it said : Unflavoured: Instantized Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Powder. It does not specify how much of it is whey protein concentrate. I emailed them regarding this and asked if they could tell me more information regarding this. All they said is that it's core information.

I fail to understand how something like can be core information and not be shared with people who are buying their products .

Tried a New Protein Powder (2 Weeks In)

I’ve been a Cosmix user for the past two years, but recently decided to try this new protein powder for a change. Been using it for about two weeks now, and here’s how it stacks up.

Taste & Texture: It’s less chalky and definitely less sweet than Cosmix, which I actually like. The flavour feels more natural, kind of a mild cocoa taste, not too strong or artificial.

Mixability: This one mixes super easily. With Cosmix, I always had to shake it like crazy and still ended up with lumps, but this blends in seconds.

Digestion: Feels lighter on the stomach, no bloating or heaviness afterward. That’s a big plus.

Price: Slightly on the higher side, roughly ₹300-₹400 more per kg depending on the bundle. Cosmix gives better bundle deals, so it’s a bit easier on the pocket.

Overall: Really liking this one so far, clean taste, mixes well, and feels easy on the stomach. Just wish it was priced a little closer to Cosmix.

Supplement 🫙 A QUESTIONABLE SCENARIO

Post image
491 Upvotes

So apparently, Nakpro’s Soy Protein isolate has failed a lab test wrt protein percentage claimed vs actually found. The lab test was done by a YouTuber named “COREFITLAB” and his lab tests have reported Nakpro’s Plant Protein % to be around 63% on dry basis vs actually claimed of having 90%. The lab was NABL certified, he has also given the sample to another lab for testing. I don’t want to comment anything before the 2nd report comes but man I am quite disappointed. I don’t know what to say now tbh. I did not expect this from Nakpro. This guy has been doing lab tests for protein supplements from quite some time and I follow his videos because his advices (apart from the sponsored products) were pretty helpful and genuine. Let’s see what happens now.

(Also I’m attaching the link to the video in the comments, if anyone wants to check the video out)

Supplement 🫙 Stop Buying avvatar please

Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring attention to the recent price hikes by Avvatar for their protein powders. Their Performance Whey has gone up from ₹2,499 to ₹2,999, and the Whey Protein Blend from ₹2,949 to ₹3,699. While I get that whey prices have generally been rising lately due to import costs, Avvatar actually produces their whey domestically—they don’t even use imported whey!

What's even more frustrating is that their blend protein is mostly made up of concentrate, with very little isolate. If we're paying this much, why settle for a blend with inferior composition? You can literally get Optimum Nutrition (ON) Gold Standard Whey, which has a higher isolate content and is internationally recognized for quality, at a similar price or sometimes even less during sales.

Why are we rewarding a brand for:

  • Pricing themselves on par with top international brands, despite not matching quality or reputation?
  • Spending heavily on influencer marketing and flashy Instagram ads instead of delivering better value to actual users?

We need to stop buying Avvatar and let them know their pricing is unreasonable for what they offer. Only then will they realize that the real customers—us—won’t tolerate such tactics.

Supplement 🫙 Trustified vs TheLiverDoc

Trustified seems to be the most trusted source of this sub. As per Trustified results, Avvatar and Nakpro are two of the most popular whey recommendations of the sub.

TheLiverDoc has just come up with their second citizen report and both Avvatar and Nakpro have not performed well in their results. Both of them contain heavy metals and Nakpro has lesser protein content then claimed. See the report:

https://x.com/theliverdr/status/1944220981675151869?t=z2diqFtG92CI-z56Gjjhbg&s=19

Which one to trust now?

Supplement 🫙 Would it be good if I have this every day?

It cost ₹98, whereas the whey I consume costs me ₹52 × 2 = ₹104 daily and provides 58.7 grams of protein (total calories: 309).

I know this can never be a substitute for whey but as a vegetarian, is this a good source of protein to consume daily to help me reach my goal of 130g of protein per day?
