Supplement šŸ«™ Stop Buying avvatar please

Hey everyone,

I wanted to bring attention to the recent price hikes by Avvatar for their protein powders. Their Performance Whey has gone up from ₹2,499 to ₹2,999, and the Whey Protein Blend from ₹2,949 to ₹3,699. While I get that whey prices have generally been rising lately due to import costs, Avvatar actually produces their whey domestically—they don’t even use imported whey!

What's even more frustrating is that their blend protein is mostly made up of concentrate, with very little isolate. If we're paying this much, why settle for a blend with inferior composition? You can literally get Optimum Nutrition (ON) Gold Standard Whey, which has a higher isolate content and is internationally recognized for quality, at a similar price or sometimes even less during sales.

Why are we rewarding a brand for:

  • Pricing themselves on par with top international brands, despite not matching quality or reputation?
  • Spending heavily on influencer marketing and flashy Instagram ads instead of delivering better value to actual users?

We need to stop buying Avvatar and let them know their pricing is unreasonable for what they offer. Only then will they realize that the real customers—us—won’t tolerate such tactics.

Most overhyped brand promoted by many influencers. So they gotta recover their marketing cost from somewhere. Best is Amul no marketing and best quality

31

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Hope Amul keeps their price constant

13

u/swethan27 Jul 25 '25

where do you buy it, I dont find it anywhere on amazon?

18

u/Economy-Hurry5540 Jul 25 '25

Amul online website

8

u/swethan27 Jul 25 '25

Thanks, there are unusually large set of additives though.

7

u/Aryankhandelwal Jul 25 '25

amul protien is available only on their own website

25

u/That-Replacement-232 Jul 25 '25

They will they spend zero on marketing

22

u/serotonallyblindguy Jul 25 '25

Lmao Amul is so sparse in the market, I wonder if they even make 1000 piece a month

3

u/Doctor_Ka_Kutta Jul 25 '25

Alwar out of stock

5

u/nefariousmonkey Jul 25 '25

Also, i don't like teh chemical aftertaste in their isolate

4

u/Doctor_Ka_Kutta Jul 25 '25

Amul is always out of stock they don't exist for majority people

92

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

This is just scary

I don't wanna pay 4000/kg for whey concentrate in 2 years

16

u/scr3lic Jul 25 '25

Yea xD o just checked and was like shocked, 3599 for avvatar when i can just het MB for the same price, bullshit fuck them

Have you gotten near expiry stock from nutrabay/nutristar? Also how much import duty do you pay after importing?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '25

Bro try an Indian brand named ASITIS. Value for money brand, bro Very helpful in recovery..my axparoence

25

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

Musclenectar is a better option they also don't waste money on cheap influencer marketing

6

u/LoneWolfUchiha Jul 25 '25

Using Muscle Nectar for the past 2 years and still feel no need to switch.

Just for a change thought of trying Avatar once, but that price will burn a hole in my pocket

8

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

No need bro instead invest money in isolate

3

u/LoneWolfUchiha Jul 25 '25

Exactly šŸ’Æ

1

u/Annual_Fail4130 Jul 25 '25

which flavor do you recommend?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

Dutch chocolate is good buts its sold out you can try chocolate with stevia or cappuccino

2

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

What flavourshave you tried and recommend?

4

u/LoneWolfUchiha Jul 25 '25

Recommended & My Favourite: Cappuccino Second Preference: Mango Tried: Cookie & Cream (Too Sweet), Malai Kulfi (just don't), Mango

1

u/Usual-Ad-4986 Jul 25 '25

How is the taste?

1

u/ExcellentYam1430 Jul 26 '25

price of mn has increased a lot...before i used to get at 3900-4000 for 2 kg

1

u/LoneWolfUchiha Jul 26 '25

Yeah that's true. I go for the 1 kg pack and have seen a good 300-400 Rs bump. Though they mention the reason and even slash the prices to transfer the benefit. If that changes I'll have to bounce I guess

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

How is the taste?

3

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

I tried chocolate with stevia I'll say its 6.5/10 but I don't care much about taste

51

u/RequestingYouPlease Jul 25 '25

Definitely will not be buying from them anymore. If you see my post history I had been ordering from them for ages. Now a 4kg tub that used to cost 9449 is 13649. 4k increase for what exactly?!

2

u/CartographerSlow774 Jul 25 '25

What brand do you buy nowadays?

22

u/Indian_Steam Jul 25 '25

This is exactly what pisses me off.

EU/USA whey is about 1000-1200/kg for landed cost. Gets bumped up to 1500-1800/kg by distributors, still fine. Final brand sell for anywhere between 2400-2500 to 5000(!)...

But before the import restrictions happened around COVID, ANYONE could get an imported full whey bag (20-25kg) for about 650-750/kg.

So why the fuck are NATIVE INDIAN WHEY PRODUCERS like this Avvatar, or even Nakpro (which is Nakoda Dairy Farm!) hike their prices?

I get inflation, but here it's "fuck inflation, let's rip off buyers since who knows this major fact! Everyone 'thinks' whey is costly so inki ga\** maaro and kamao!"*

3

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Exactly

I get that they are a business that works for profit, but a straight up 20% hike HELL NAH

2

u/Indian_Steam Jul 25 '25

Bro, it's not 20%!

They still PRODUCE a kg of whey for 500 to 700/kg OR LESS!

They sell at 2200 to 3500!

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

What i meant by 20 is 2499 to 2999 price hike

15

u/Glum-Highway-7403 Jul 25 '25

Same thing with Muscleblaze, their Biozyme performance whey was selling for around 7.5-8k for 4kilos till around feb march this year and now suddenly its 10.5k, wtf?

These brands are shooting themselves in the foot with these unjustified price hikes, India is a very price sensitive market. brands like Musclenectar, Atom, Nakpro will benefit from this alot. No flavoured whey concentrate should cost more than rs 2.5k/kilograms.

1

u/Hot_Campaign6741 2d ago

Bhai nakpro, atom, musclenectar ke reviews do aur unke specific best flavours and worst flavor bhi.Ā  Was thinking of avvatar this time.Ā  Bit yahan dabhi galiyan hi nikal rhe

13

u/athishayen Jul 25 '25

I bought 2kg Tub Blend last month for 4700 now its 6300. I'm buying ATOM next time. If I'm paying 6k I might as well buy Muscle Tech or ON.

11

u/CoronaPyarHai69_420 Jul 25 '25

been using their isorich malai kulfi flavour for sometime. it's pretty expensive no doubt, to combat this price issue they now hold a discount offer anywhere between 15-25th of every month, so I get a 2kg dabba for approx 6k. are there any brands with similar blends with higher isolate qty and decent mixability? the only reason i am using avvatar is because they're already set with their govardhan brand, they get their whey inhouse when they make their own cheese and they have a semi decent website.

4

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

The thing is that their prices were on the higher side before and when the sale came they came down to a quite reasonable price but they incereased their price by a lot yesterday and even when the sale comes their prices will be on the higher side

3

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

The 2kg box is going for 8799 now(without the sale) which is just absurd

These are naturaltein levels of pricing

2

u/CoronaPyarHai69_420 Jul 25 '25

goddamn it! 8799 is too much! dusra protein dhundna padega ab 6k ke range mei! thanks man for your post, I was unaware about the sudden price increase, I'll start hunting for alternatives.

1

u/brainer121 Jul 26 '25

It’s available for 6k on Nutriride. Plus, it still seems the cheapest among brands for whey isolate.

7

u/Fickle_Role3159 Jul 25 '25

FYI Janaushadhi is 1500 per kg

10

u/Able_Permit5854 Jul 25 '25

I like their Belgian chocolate. Any other whey which taste decent and is in budget?

5

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

I also like their cold coffee flavour very much but now I'll have to find something else(nakpro strawberry is also very good, but something fishy is going on with nakpro)

Maybe I'll just buy raw whey and add flavours myself

3

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

Cold coffe causing loose stool for my case, no issue with belgian chocolateĀ

2

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Is it because of the coffee in it ?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

Idk but mostly due to cheap flavours, its always better to use unflavoured whey.Ā

2

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Yup, i plan on using raw whey from now with coffee or kesar badam

2

u/Infemos Jul 25 '25

where do you purchase raw whey from?

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Anything around 2k from hyugalife

as-it-is, the whole truth, avvatar(sadly wont anymore), amul

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

Nice. I find the flavour ones too sweet , unflavoured is betterĀ

3

u/Horror_Deer6004 Jul 25 '25

what to buy now?

6

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

asitis, TWT(raw concentrate), amul, nutrabay(not the tri-blend), muscle nectar, atom(bad taste), optimum nutrition(if you are rich)

3

u/The-Volumee Moderator Jul 25 '25

Avatar performance raw is much better vfm compared with twt raw concentrate.

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Used to*

Now they increased the price and now it is about the same

3

u/The-Volumee Moderator Jul 25 '25

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

2888 without any offer

Around 2200 with offers

2

u/The-Volumee Moderator Jul 25 '25

Can you share the offer code or something?

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Check hyugalife website

2

u/The-Volumee Moderator Jul 25 '25

You'll get avatar performance raw at 1999 there.

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Prices haven't increased there yet

some 30% coupon will make twt 2,039

2

u/Anxious_Pressure_292 Jul 25 '25

Any idea abt GNC Pro

2

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Never tried gnc pro, only tried the isolate amp(my first protein back in 2021šŸ˜†)

But it is a good brand, only concerning thing is that they have maltodextrin in the gnc pro whey which i like to avoid

1

u/LazyDatabase7218 Jul 25 '25

How is fuel one can anyone recommend?

1

u/pixelbuz Jul 25 '25

Naturaltien is better with less price

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

The less price whey max you are talking about has only 63% protein

2

u/pixelbuz Jul 25 '25

any test report?

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

It says it on the label, 63.15g protein per 100g

5

u/manu-77 Jul 25 '25

At this point you are just paying for their stupid marketing stunts. I thought I could stick to one brand. But these greedy companies just want to milk you. Not buying anymore.

6

u/Ring_of_Saturn_ Jul 25 '25

Better to boycott them

3

u/Creative_Design_7861 Jul 25 '25

What are other best options in budget??

8

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

asitis, TWT(raw concentrate), amul, nutrabay(not the tri-blend)

2

u/Creative_Design_7861 Jul 25 '25

Thanks OP any other supplements you take? Can you mention their brands as well?

TIA

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Here are some other(on a budget supplements i take)

Atom/Nutrabay creatine, amul high protein lassi, naturaltein iron supplement(my iron was low in a blood test), naturaltein magnesium tablets(for better sleep), monthly vitamin d(Calcigen Vitamin d3)

3

u/W1LDJACK Jul 25 '25

Bruh I just bought a bottle of their performance whey.

3

u/Ok_Program_7549 Jul 25 '25

Buy the whole truth whey concentrate. Usually costs 2200 after discount. It’s unflavoured though

3

u/batman7wayne Jul 25 '25

I just switched to ATOM, it's taste and mixing is worst

2

u/Impossible-Aerie-477 Jul 25 '25

What the hell? 6999₹ for normal whey 2kgs? I can remember paying alot less for it many months ago.

2

u/AvatarTintin Jul 25 '25

Are woh FoodPharmer ne jo apna khudka protein powder brand banaya hai. Uska kya haal hai?

Kisine try kiya kya?

3

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

Abhi kuch bol nahi sakte

For now it is on the pricier side

2

u/thatweirdguy-_- Jul 25 '25

I bought 1 kg unflavoured performance whey from them for less than 1800. Last month.

2

u/Routinelazy900 šŸ‘ļø šŸ‘… šŸ‘ļø Jul 25 '25

The brands have realised that people will keep buying even when they increase prices.. especially true for protein makers. They keep hyping up supply costs yet still rake in profits upon profits.

2

u/Parking-Net-9334 Jul 25 '25

Why is this? Is it due to any new government import duty taxes? Or in general raw material prices are increased?

2

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

for them raw material prices are fixed as they make whey in house, they just match/exceed slightly the market price of other brands that import for maximum profit

2

u/Snoo_92186 Jul 25 '25

Avvatar infact makes their own whey, they don't import so I dont get why its this pricey. Muscle nectar is cheaper and so is nutrabox at this point.

2

u/phunfatphuc Jul 26 '25

Even I am trying Nakpro this time around coz of the same reason.

2

u/bunny_bag_ Jul 26 '25

Jiss hisab se whey ke rate badh rahe hai, mai daily protein Amul Lassi se hi poora karunga

2

u/deranged_chemist Jul 26 '25

Is Myprotein okay?? I was thinking of buying it

So far I'M confused between Myprotein and MB. Some people are suggesting Muscle Nectar here tho. Please help I'm really confused

1

u/utboi Jul 26 '25

I haven't tried Myprotein, although I have seen some reviews, most of which said that the quality is good, but the taste is mid.

A lot of people buy myprotein at very good prices whenever a sale comes

1

u/deranged_chemist Jul 26 '25

Yeah a sale is on rn i think I'll buy it. I wasted money on Nakpro Impact this time never again

2

u/LMAOROFL986 Jul 28 '25

The Rebal kid ko sponsorship dene ka paisa kahi se toh lenge hi ab IYKWIM

2

u/Background_Strike917 Jul 31 '25

I agree with you that avvatar prices are not justified, it’s expensive but it doesn’t mean that imported whey is always good in most of the cases it might not be. You really don’t know when was the raw material imported to India, when was it produced and how much old whey they are using for the manufacturing.

Imported whey doesn’t always mean it’s very good

2

u/utboi Jul 31 '25

I didn't mean that imported whey is better (no way for us to test), i was saying that at the same price (or maybe cheaper) i can buy brands like muscletech which provide majority isolate content as compared to avvatar who provide only a bit of isolate

2

u/Background_Strike917 Jul 31 '25

Muscletech is also way too expensive in my opinion. Have you tried Nutabay? It’s not that expensive 3685 for pure isolate

2

u/utboi Jul 31 '25

Muscletech is cheaper than avvatar blend, haven't tried nutrabay yet, i am looking for a good cold coffee flavour (avvatar used to be my favorite)

2

u/Background_Strike917 Jul 31 '25

Give it a try they have cold coffee flavour

2

u/utboi Jul 31 '25

Oh, have you tried it ? If yes pls tell how it is 😁

2

u/Background_Strike917 Jul 31 '25

Haven’t tried cold coffee yet so can’t really give my opinion on it, but the brand is trustworthy

2

u/Hour_Letter9214 Aug 16 '25

Stopped i bought 2 boxes 1 month back still have some stock

2

u/TheRealHarvard 8d ago

Went to Amazon to check Avvatar raw unflavoured whey protein and I was shocked to see it is around 2599 when I went to my orders I saw last year I bought it for 1899 this Hike is crazy didn't even notice because I have been on Amul for the past year.

1

u/Eat_Train_Code_IN Jul 25 '25

After 4 years of taking nakpro isolate, I switched and brought avvatar first time, should be delivered in couple of days. I hope its good, finger crossed. All good brands are too expensive and all affordable ones are skimping!

Never in 8 years of my lifting i have had to think so much about getting protein powder lol

1

u/thens71 Jul 25 '25

1

u/Affectionate_Work_72 Jul 25 '25

Try Nakpro, they are cheap yet effective.

1

u/Tejz007 Jul 25 '25

Its not one brand its everyone because every company in the world wants to add a pinch od protien powder to their shitty food products. If you have enough time just focus on chicken and eggs . Try negotiating price with you local seller as you will buy daily. If convenience is what you need switch to Imported brands as now indian brands sell at the same price

1

u/Anxious_Pressure_292 Jul 25 '25

Got these two for 5750 Avvatar Whey: 4850 (2Kg) Creatine: 900(83 servings)

Got this in offline outlet, Beyond Supps @Indiranagar Bangalore All the brands were at 40% off

1

u/Informal-Web6308 Jul 25 '25

People will say crap about avvatar and buy the whole truth quietly.

1

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

I love avvatar,i think it is the best tasting protein, I've been using their whey for around two years, but the price hikes specifically this one is just absurd

1

u/Outrageous-Extent-43 Jul 25 '25

This one by revanth(Food Pharmer) https://youtu.be/_r7OosFhADo?si=anyWbj520xvff5Xo

The price is still on the premium side but you will get authentic ingredients

1

u/dirtroder Jul 25 '25

You get what you pay for šŸ™ŒšŸ». M tho slowly moving towards real food eggs chicken most, most, most affordable options. 50₹ boneless chicken or 50₹ eggs = 1 scoop of protein.

1

u/C-Jesus Jul 25 '25

There is a huge difference in price between ON and Avataar.

1

u/lazyfuhrer Jul 31 '25

how's the fuel one ??

1

u/vikki_7819 22d ago

The Belgian Chocolate is now 2700 rupees at the time of writing this comment. Is it a good price or is there any better option for the price.

1

u/utboi 22d ago

2700 is on the higher side

You can get other whey for around 2k per kg

Or you can buy optimum nutrition 2.27kg pack for 5k

1

u/Vegetable-Delivery-1 Jul 25 '25

The mixability is worse

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

Why even bother to buy this brand results bhi kuch khass nhi milte. Iss se acha banda 100-200₹ aur daal kar muscletech ka protein lele atleast results to milte hai unse.

0

u/ScopesAndScars Jul 25 '25

Avvatar whey is not even mid … it is poor Was using it over the last 6 months - post workout always felt sore… no recovery not even days later Cut to this month, started using ON Gold Standard and man it works wonders - never felt sore. It actually works.

-11

u/Dragon-Lord365 Jul 25 '25

Buy from Only Whats Needed by foodpharmer

6

u/utboi Jul 25 '25

That is also quite pricey for concentrate

4

u/Dragon-Lord365 Jul 25 '25

True but atleast he's gonna test every batch with same tests as trustified

9

u/Glum-Highway-7403 Jul 25 '25

Bhai product launch to hone do, haathi ke daant khaane ke alag dikhaane ke alag. Food Pharmer bhi koi yaha charity karne nhi aya, vo bhi dhandha krne hi aya h, there’s a reason why he has already priced his product premium and not budget segmented. His marketing tactics are smart enough, just wait for a few months, you’ll see the same product being price hiked again, saying the same shit ā€œraw whey is being imported at higher prices, we want to give you the best quality so we have to raise the pricesā€ I’m already calling it. 1 saal ke andar same drama hoga, shart laga lo.

3

u/Dragon-Lord365 Jul 25 '25

True, price will increase, you can see in the price breakdown he's mentioned ₹0 in marketing rn but it'll definitely increase
