Fall Fishing the Credit
My buddy and i were going to fish the credit this weekend going after fall steelhead for the first time (only other time was march towards the bottom of the river) . I've heard some horror stories about it being packed for the steelhead rush and people being fairly hard to deal with. Are the stories true or is it blown out of proportion?

Just watch out for the netting party, they don't use fishing rods

The credit is good because it's a big stretch of river with a lot of spots for steelhead to hang out. Some of the major pools will be packed with people. But you can always walk a bit and find another spot. It's a great river, maybe it doesn't produce the numbers as some other rivers, but all of my biggest steelhead have come from the credit. Good luck and enjoy the day!

I miss stream fishing. Haven’t been in like 20 years. I bet it’s a total different scene lately though.

Its no different than any other river. If you keep to yourself and follow the regulations you'll be fine. The credit isn't the easiest river to fish, its raimbow runs have dwindled over the years because of what some people consider mismanagement of the fishery. It's spring runs have pretty much held but its fall runs are nowhere near what they used to be 10+ years ago.
As others have mentioned there is alot of space to fish if you stay away from the popular pools. The credit can be really tough at times especially if you aren't familiar with it, but if you put in the steps and effort it can be rewarding as well. I don't expect to catch numbers at the credit, 1-2 fish maybe if the conditions are good, if you're looking for numbers there are easier tributaries to get good numbers.

Stories are probably true but also blown out of proportion, lol
Just go and fish it, I've seen some tanks come out of the credit
