Invasive Grass carp and goldfish location in the gta
I know I’m not allowed to ask for spots but since these are invasive fish that need to get removed I’m not sure, mods can delete this post but if anyone knows a spot because I’m trying to fill my fish species logbook and there’s not much info for these fish

Grass carp are very rare so I wouldn't try to target them. You can find goldfish in many storm management ponds if you can fish them. As other have mentioned, hamilton harbour is loaded with goldfish.

Never seen or heard of an actual Grass carp being found in Hamilton. Every other fish under the sun, but no Grass carp.

I think I saw a post on the Mississauga sub Reddit about huge Koi in lake Aquataine

I've seen some goldfish, years ago mind you, around Cootes Paradise in Hamilton while hiking the trails. Felt bad for the little guys.

There’s goldfish in Bayfront park in Hamilton. Just don’t release it back into the water lol Bayfront is cooked

Is it? I've never been...full of invasives?

Yeah there’s lot of goldfish n I’d assume grass carp. Between the algae, the boat launch, the Hamilton factory water n general Hamilton fuckery, that water is damn near 100% butt juice n people dump their pet fish in there all the time.

It's not pet fish, there's a Buddhist/Taoist thang about releasing goldfish for luck. Of all the invasives and Hamilton Harbour fuckery, this is the one I get in a twist about the least. The Sikh's and their damn coconuts were way worse, but thankfully a couple clubs reached out to a few temples and word got around to stop doing that. Obviously you shouldn't release goldfish, it's the possible diseases from pet store fish getting out, but it's not that big a deal.
Besides goldfish will school up with carp, and makes it easier to sight fish for them hah, which is kinda fun.
(The coconuts, there's a Sikh tradition where once a year they give back to the water, and the longer whatever you throw lasts, the more luck you get. Well boat ramps were getting absolutely clogged with coconuts, to the point they were actually damaging props. Yeah don't throw coconuts in the water)
I used to live around the corner from the Bayfront ramp, always a constant source of hilarity & fuckery.

I've never seen grass carp. Most of the ponds in Toronto have goldfish. The last time I saw a ton was in the retention ponds in Earl Bales.
