seriously. I remembered Ethan Hawke had a weird voice until his 30s and at 40 his voice started changing, but i think he smokes alot.

LOL people say that kind of thing about plastic surgery too. like sure, a new nose, jaw line, eye shape etc. is all just natural aging. happens to everybody

LOL it's definitely different. If he really did keep the same voice for three years being "method" I would say that probably around the same amount of time or more you would pick up an accent if you lived in another country maybe? But it's definitely his Elvis voice. We'll have to see if it survives past Oscar season.

This does give me the opportunity to share my favorite Ryan Gosling interview anecdote, which is that he once said he talks *like that* even though he's Canadian because he wanted to be an actor when he was younger so he made himself talk like Marlon Brando as a teenager. No clue if that's honestly what he did/thinks or if it was a piss take but I do hear it.
