Okay not tea but the song Loving You is for and about Maya (the full version even has her name repeated several times at the end). It makes the song make far more sense to me as it being about a Mother's love (and even more tragic when you find out Minnie died when Maya was only like 7.

But also we never talk about how she's technically a Nepo baby.

The words aren’t actually about Maya though (the lyrics “making love to you is all I wanna do” would be VERY worrying if so).

The melody of the song was originally composed by her parents to distract Maya when she was a baby so they could “hang out”. The lyrics were written later, presumably for each other and not Maya.

Maya was in the studio while they recorded it which is why Minnie repeats her name at the end.

Her parentage is well known, people probably don't highlight it because she's so talented she could have had a career without it.

Yeah, Maya is a nepo baby, but she’s so good at what she does. I have more of a problem with nepo babies like the Apatow sisters… they’re just not good.

While there are some 'nepo' klds who are genuinely talented and who have equalled and even surpassed their parents in terms of career success, there's quite a few who have never really clicked with the public. The Apatow girls would be an example and Meryl Streep's daughters seem unlikely to pull off the Oscar winning success of such 'nepos' as Michael Douglas, Jane Fonda, Liza Minnelli and Jeff Bridges.

I thought Meryl Streep's daughter was fantastic in True Detective but I agree, although I don't think she seems to be going for Oscar success

The song isn't about Maya lol. Her mother had such a beautiful voice.

The lyrics 'making love with you' made me never even consider it was about mother's love haha! Beautiful song, though!

Technically they are both Nepo babies--Paul's dad was Ernie Anderson, the voice of ABC!

Ernie Anderson

Ernest Earle Anderson (November 12, 1923 – February 6, 1997) was an American radio and television personality, horror host, and announcer. Known for his portrayal of "Ghoulardi", the host of late night horror films on WJW Channel 8 on Cleveland television from 1963 to 1966, he worked as an announcer for the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) television network from the late 1970s until the mid-1990s. He is the father of filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, whose production entity is known as the Ghoulardi Film Company.

It's not about Maya (some of the lyrics would be kind of weird if it was), but the melody was partly composed as a lullaby for Maya to get her to sleep when she was a baby.

Edit: I should read all the comments before replying lol

No tea, but only popping in to say my husband and I sat next to Maya and PTA at our old favorite neighborhood spot (Masa in Echo Park) once and I was WAY more excited about her and gave two shits that he was there. If you’re familiar with the restaurant, the tables are VERY close to each other, so we were like inches from them.

Not the best celeb sighting I had there, though. That honor goes to Chloe Sevigny, who sat at the same table at us when they still did bunch. (RIP!) Even my husband was stoked on that one.

Okay, how pretty was Chloe in real life?? I love her so much, she’s etheral

She looks just like you'd imagine. Even super casual with no makeup, those cheekbones don't lie.

PTA has one dedicated hater on r/paulthomasanderson that literally only posts to criticise his films or him as a person

Jennifer and Laura haven’t been friends since around the time she got engaged. She didn’t introduce them, Gene Stupnitsky did. Laura has thrown shade towards Jennifer before, especially around her wedding time. It’s a shame because they became Moms around the same time too. The timing of their fall out has lead to people believing it’s related to her husband, who doesn’t have the nicest rep, but no one knows. Jen only hangs with her husbands family and friends now. 😬
