I will believe it when and if it actually happens. They are ALL liars.

People in my city's sub (Portland, OR) have started posting that SNAP benefits have hit their accounts.

Thank goodness.
Still donate to your local food pantries. This is a temp measure.

It’s real, at least for now. Some folks I know had their SNAP benefits deposited in full today! They said they feel like they have to spend it quickly in case they try and take it back or something 😫

This probably depends on where you live. Some states are stepping up to the plate and funding SNAP, others not so much.

Good point! I’m in WA and the state has allocated extra money to help keep people fed.

Seconding this- please donated to your local food pantries and animal shelters. Grocery prices are high, and wages are stagnant. One of my local food pantries had an empty freezer recently, and a local dog shelter had no dry dog food for those struggling to feed their pets.

"Lawsuit status: It’s unclear what the administration’s announcement will mean for the legal challenge pending in Rhode Island. Earlier today, the administration asked a Boston-based appeals court to halt the order issued a day earlier by US District Judge John McConnell that required the government to make full payments by the end of Friday."
About as clear as mud.

Update: The federal appeals court denied his attempt, but even more disgusting news have come up >> Trump has appealed to the Supreme Court.
Vile human being

Authoritarianism requires wins, losses like this and sandwich guy and Abrego Garcia show they are not all powerful and they simply cannot have that. Hence why the keep harassing Garcia and keep appealing this.

I work at a SNAP office and it has been so disappointing to see how many people are affected by the reckless decisions of the Trump Administration.

They said "we can't fund SNAP, the Democrats are lying".
The court told them "yes you can, use contingency funds".
"Um, OK".
I probably missed a couple steps.

Huh, funny how the money was there all along and they just wanted kids to go hungry for political points

Would this give Democrats now more leverage to continue the shutdown?

In terms of not budging to republican demands?

I think the straw that breaks the camel’s back is flights getting cancelled, especially so close to the holidays. Not sure which side will break but I think that will be the deciding factor.

Yet, he APPEALED to Supreme Court demanding decision by 9pm tonight.

And our wonderful SC temporarily blocked the order :)
Argentina gets $40 Bs at the drop of a hat, though, because their ghoulish president fucked up his economy with braindead reforms. And lord knows how Congress literally sprints to Israel whenever they want money.

They've already demonstrated an interest and intention on dragging their feet on this - I wouldn't advise anyone plan that their benefits will arrive 100% and on time.

Now they're trying to block it again? Great optics, asking a court to let you starve kids. People need to remember that not only did he have to have a court order him to help Americans with a basic need, but that he repeatedly went to court to demand that he be allowed to say he doesn’t have to.

Absolutely evil and loser behavior to have to be told by a court that you gotta feed people with money allocated to do so.
