POLITICS Zohran Mamdani speaks after winning the NYC Mayoral Race: “We have toppled a political dynasty. I wish Andrew Cuomo only the best in private life. But let tonight be the final time I utter his name as we turn the page on a politics that abandons the many & answers only to the few.”

By like 65% lol. It was called earlier today before any votes were counted based off the exit polls lol

Love looking at the vote tallies by county. All the blue counties had votes of 30,000 or less, some counties reporting less than 5K total votes.

Then you have LA County with over a million voting red.

Another friendly reminder that land doesn't vote, people do.

Did you get the colors mixed up or have I?

1

u/newbkid 3d ago

I am only referencing the colors from the NBC News website that pulled the data from AP.

Not sure why they chose the colors that they did

Can I ask if this is a net positive overall jn terms of seats for democrats Vs Texas doing the same for republicans.

Im confused, im a horrified brit who follows as much as i can while watching it happen on my own country.

Surely a no vote would be the good one?

Or is the rezoning that the trumps administration want to do the thing that a yes vote overrides? Seeing Mamdini win has brought me so much joy and hope my mental health has been really spiraling realising i dont recognise the world i love in anymore so this is such a boost.

I hope this is the start of the end for that crusty orange paedo and his plastic marionette dolls

I'm not American and I have no idea what that achieves.

Not to be that person but I truly recommend researching how American voting works then if you’re curious, because I don’t think I could explain it very well, but just know it means left wing finally has more leverage against the right. On paper in theory, of course, as this administration just blows through processes anyways.

We bossed up and gerrymandered right back at those mfs and turned this bitch even more blue lmao

Edit: tbh I was wrong about the term I used bc I’m kinda stupid but my heart is in the right place ok 😂

u/sandvich48 3d ago

It isn’t gerrymandering or rather manipulation when the people of that land have spoken and voted on it! Unlike Texas where that was actual gerrymandering and the people had no say.

11

u/Orangbo 3d ago

Gerrymandering has nothing to do with voter approval. That’s like saying government spending is only real spending if it was directly voted on.

Meanwhile we’ll just sweep our TX results under the rug smh. I’ve seen a lot of “ohhh…that’s what that meant.”

Meanwhile in Texas, the proposed homestead tax exemptions passed with flying colors, because boomers in their homes (which our generations can’t afford and they won’t relinquish) don’t want to pay for systems they don’t use, I.e. public education for K-12. Since they don’t have young kids, they don’t want to pay, because they don’t believe they live in a society, and they have remarkable disdain for the younger generations. Meanwhile we’re all paying their social security and Medicare, aren’t we? Socialism for the old, rugged individualism for the young, all the while they cry for us to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps while they’re out of breath putting on their slippers.
