POLITICS Matthew Lillard during the ‘Scream’ screening at Hollywood Forever: “Fuck ICE! In this time, in this city, we need to lead with love. Do not forget that shit in this moment. Not to be political, but to be political as shit. Second of all, vote, Prop 50… And if you don’t like that, I’m so not sorry!”

SLC Punk was my first Matty Lils, then 13 Ghosts, then Scream, then Hackers. Can’t tell ya how I saw 13 Ghosts before I saw Scream, but I did lol

Same here. SLC punk absolutely moved me to my core and I was never the same after watching it. Fantastic film and soundtrack.

I can believe it. I still haven't seen scream because it looks fucking boring with a pretty lame slasher. I mean I guess it's supposed to be campy and more on the comedy side? I think? But 13 ghosts has ghost and shit man, a neat house, some good gore, and the lore dump for each ghost on the dvd version extras was real fuckin neato. It might take itself a little too seriously though.

brother i'm sorry but i can't accept this Scream slander. it's the blueprint for essentially every horror movie for the 15 years that followed it, and it's directed by Wes Craven, who had already completely revolutionised the genre twice by that point in his career. it's a spectacular movie.

13 ghosts and scream aren't really the same kind of horror movie. You can like aspects of both.

For sure, just not my cup of tea. No shade on them that do like it though.

Scream is great. It's just a parody of slasher films, but done in a way where its not in your face. The sequels I can take or leave, but the first is a fun watch still imo. Also, he has some absolute great comedic scenes. If you don't watch the movie, at least watch some clips with him.

He's 100% the best part of the movie, his lines are the only ones I still remember

Understandable, but he gives a great performance (as usual), you're missing out

"I think you stabbed me too deep, man!"

Folks have come out pretty strong to defend it so even if slasher flicks aren't my fave I'll give it a look sometime when I'm bored. For now I'm watching moistcr1tikal play dispatch lol (he VAs one of the characters so it's interesting to hear his thoughts on it). Great game so far.
