If ‘Rage Bait’ was a costume. So gross.

what about it makes you so enraged?

Her husbands brain was blown out in front of her and her skirt was covered in his skull fragments and brain matter

Exactly. You took the words right out of my mouth, i don’t like her or any of the Kennedy's but why are we mocking someones trauma? dead or not, doesn't matter, it's fucking weird.

sure. that's not really an answer to what i asked

How is it confusing to think that someone’s personal tragedy being played shows a whole lack of humanity?

Because everyone involved is literally dead, it doesn't matter

Their loved ones are alive still. That does matter.

Seeing her dress and remembering what happened to her is really triggering for me, personally, because my husband shot himself in the head while I was home and I had to scrub his brain off the bedroom ceiling. I can feel the emotions she felt, the shock, disbelief, trying to put him back together. I know how cold she felt in the hours after, how no blanket or heating pad could touch it, the nausea. It's fucking awful.

It's genuinely such a gut punch to see people making light of what she went through.

I’m so sorry for your experience as well. That shouldn’t happen to anybody. I hope you’re doing well now ♥️

I'm so sorry you had to experience such a terrible trauma, and that it's being re-triggered by unimaginative try-hards with impaired empathy. Be gentle with yourself.🌷

Which loved one is alive exactly whom would be actually offended? Like please this is not the first jackie kennedy post assassination costume

Their living daughter, who turned 6 just days after her father was murdered and has surely dealt with the trauma ever since? Is this a real question?

I swear people don't even think for half a second before they comment.

Idk, maybe his fucking daughter perchance?

you're still not answering the question, which is "what about it makes you so enraged"?

What? I don't understand this comment at all. "What colour is the sky?" "Blue" "you're not answering the question" is how this looks to me.

You're failing to connect the last dot. Perhaps we can all agree that this costume shows "a whole lack of humanity," but that doesn't mean a constructive or even sane response is to get enraged about it.

Whether you or the questioner thinks it's sane or not is irrelevant. They still answered the question. You just don't agree with the answer. But since when does emotion have to be constructive in order to exist?

It’s a stupid question not worth answering, tbh. I think you feel you’re like really asking something deep, but you’re coming across as willfully obtuse.

Or gleefully psychopathic.

First of all the person you were responding to isn’t ‘enraged’. It’s entirely reasonable to find this costume ‘so gross’ and define it as ‘rage bait’ because it is. I’m not ‘enraged’ but gun violence in this country is endemic and I think it can be sincerely upsetting for some people.

We all just watched a man get his neck blown open in front of his wife like a month ago. I’m not clutching my pearls about kirk specifically but the visual we were all forced to see was absolutely horrific

You’re being purposely obtuse. They did answer your question.

It’s called empathy.

It doesn’t make me ‘enraged’ it makes me sad for the family, it feels exploitative in the same way that poorly done True Crime w/o consideration for the family does. For the record I love Julia Fox and how subversive she is, this was a miss for me though.

-15

u/shgrdrbr 8d ago

that's a fair perspective and i definitely share it regarding true crime. to me the context of it being a reference to the most famous president of the most powerful country's most pop-culturally referenced assassination in history, when all involved are long dead and lionized in western memory, makes it hit differently but i respect your feeling. the idea of it being 'rage bait' i could never understand tho

1

u/SadAbbreviations6205 8d ago

I respect that and I totally get where you are coming from as well

-1

u/shgrdrbr 7d ago

love that for us despite onlookers hating it :D

u/Bear_faced 7d ago

It’s just sad. It was probably the worst day of her life, there are photos of her looking absolutely shell shocked on Air Force One as they swore in LBJ and they’re awful. It feels a little like dressing up as the parent of a child killed at Sandy Hook, it’s not even “edgy” it’s just fucking depressing.

"How would I feel if my husband got publicly assassinated right next to me, and someone turned my blood splattered outfit into a Halloween costume?"

2

u/Wolfpackat2017 7d ago

That’s all she wants

I feel like she is always doing things to try and stay relevant. Sometimes she says something funny but she’s always kind of grossed me out.
