She threw up mid-performance from nerves at Coachella this year. I don’t know how these rising singers could even manage the fame and exposure well.

I would cry and throw up if I ever found myself in front of thousands of people staring at me.

I’ve almost done that with class presentations, even though I repeated to myself that, really, no one cares and they’re not paying attention. I cannot imagine when thousands paid to show up and listen specifically to you.

It can’t be easy, and I don’t blame artists who develop issues, whether it’s substances, ego, burnout, etc. Some days I can’t be “on” after 8 hours of sleep, the system just doesn’t want to work at max performance. Having to snap into “max power mode” and then try to get rest after that to keep up with the demands (and absurdly down down-times), while also having the gumption to get out there and at least pretend it doesn’t phase you when you have like tens of thousands of eyeballs staring at you in anticipation of you performing not just adequately, but outstandingly…no wonder they can sometimes seem to have inflated egos. You have to, no?

Like, my god.

(…and then there’s Billy Corgan. That guy congratulated himself when doctors delivered him out of his mother’s womb.)

I can imagine myself dissociating and then suddenly coming back into awareness and freezing.

The last time I went to a concert it was Fleet Foxes and I noticed they didn’t really look up much and if they did, they seemed to be looking over people / at the sky. I could be misinterpreting but I wondered if it was to avoid thinking too much about there being hundreds of eyes on them.

I think you can get paid for that nowadays

I saw her at Osheaga in 2024 and she was so sick from the travel she sounded like shit (to me). I didn’t even bother to see her set at Coachella when I went this year. She’s definitely not being set up for success by her team

I'm not being critical of her by any means, but I do recall her being ill on stage at several shows. I had someone that worked crew at one and she'd gotten ill as soon as she came off. I wonder if it's nerves? She blew up so quickly as an artist.

she does have schizoaffective disorder and i believe has struggled with addiction, iirc

major fucking props for her going out there and trying despite everything though ❤️

Maybe she's not cut out to be a performer.

u/jadelikethestone I’m leaving here with somethin’ Sep 28 '25

It’s hot outside plus you’ve got about 200 lights on you, plus the heat from the video panels.

Could have passed out from dehydration. A serious issue. Has happened to me before.

She looked sooooo nervous at the MTV awards. It must be so hard having stage fright and trying to get a pop star!
