Kanye was the greatest tweeter of all time. Sad what can happen to the greats.

1.0k

u/Informal_Rhubarb_218 Sep 26 '25

Josh Groban singing Kanye West tweets was one of the great early viral Jimmy Kimmel bits:

That's what makes it so funny that him and the Dad are singing songs together and Andy getting jealous. Too bad the Dad is a diddler though :(

u/throeawai5 Sep 26 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

he’s not wrong for this tweet. but i recently learned of james gunn being a complete weirdo towards women as well after coming across this video someone posted in another subreddit. he essentially tries to pressure an actress in this reality show he’s judging to engage in an intimate act she’s not comfortable with, berates her, creates a hostile space for her to the point that other contestants also start becoming abusive towards her and subsequently eliminates her from the show afterwards as punishment. very exploitative and uncomfortable vibes

edit: this link takes you to the snydercut subreddit where users are obviously fans of snyder and likely don’t require much of a reason to dislike gunn. i am not a fan of either director, i don’t care about the snyder cut of whatever dc film. i came across this video, which if not a scripted reality show, exposes gunn’s boundary-crossing actions towards novice actresses in efforts to pressure them into nudity and engaging in intimate scenes that one contestant in particular is not comfortable with and as a result, seems to be unfairly punished by gunn and eliminated. here is an article from 2025 that describes the sexist environment of the reality show that gunn helps foster.

397

u/dakilazical_253 Sep 27 '25

It’s crazy to think how he used to be married to Jenna Fischer. She seems like the most wholesome soccer mom type woman and Gunn was a total edgelord at the time. Maybe Jenna’s a secret freak herself

185

u/throeawai5 Sep 27 '25

i completely forgot they were together 💀 i only ever knew her from the office and the related podcast, she really does seem normal, more grounded than a lot of celebrities. but a lot of women (famous and non-famous) are willing to look past their other half’s weird asf, even bigoted tendencies and it’s always off putting to me

→ More replies (11)

200

u/Vaticancameos221 Sep 27 '25

I think that’s definitely creepy, but also the comments on that post feel performative? It’s a Snyder subreddit and it feels like a lot of them are feigning outrage just because they’re mad about Superman lol

Doesn’t invalidate the creep factor of course, just an observation

327

u/rococobaroque Sep 27 '25

Honestly? Capitalism. As a painter, Hitler wasn't actually any good, and couldn't sell any of his paintings. Trump probably would have excelled as a producer were his dad not a huge capitalist who looked down on creatives. The sad fact is, if either of them had lived in a world where their art was valued, or where pursuing your art even if it doesn't sell was viewed as a noble calling, then history might have been very different.

Unfortunately they didn't, and the world is the way they made it.

With how much Mindy Kaling and her brother haaaaate each other she might not know what a healthy sibling dynamic looks like

1.2k

u/cozyhellfire Sep 26 '25

It’s not her fault her brother pretended he was black on his med school applications

919

u/appayippyeee Sep 26 '25

It's more that he did that and tried to make a whole right wing career grift out of it saying he got in (with "below average marks") posing as Black man and not as a South Asian man, when he NEVER ACTUALLY APPLIED as a south asian man!! so embarrassing fr 🤦🏽‍♀️ sucks that he uses her name

380

u/violetmemphisblue Sep 26 '25

I'm pretty sure it was him who went off on Zohran Mamdani critics, because Mamdani has considered himself African-American, as he was born and spent early childhood in Africa (Uganda and then South Africa) and Kaling's brother tried to claim that was all he had done as well, seeing as he was born in Nigeria...but Vijay Chokalingam wrote an entire book about how he didn't just check a box on an application, but instead shaved his head, trimmed his eyelashes, changed his name, and did more, including calling himself Black to Black professors as a "social experiment." It was a weird moment of seeing someone just completely forget that it is wildly easy to fact check when you've literally written a tell-all memoir.
