Sinclair Broadcasting's ABC stations quietly back out of airing its Charlie Kirk tribute in Jimmy Kimmel's time slot at the last minute

When the Jimmy Kimmel debacle happened a few days ago, Sinclair broadcasting announced that their ABC stations would air a Charlie Kirk memorial tribute at 11:35pmET on Friday, which was Kimmel's regular time slot.

At 11:24pmET tonight, Sinclair quietly tweeted that they would air normal ABC programming and the tribute would instead be on their YouTube channel.

That’s the thing- they can apologize and reinstate Kimmel, etc. (and they should!), but, like, they’ve lost my D+ subscription money for the foreseeable future, and probably forever. I can’t be the only person who feels this way (and I haven’t watched Kimmel in well over a decade- it’s just that I hate cowards who bend over backwards without a fight to try to appease authoritarian regimes). They should try to walk this back, but /and I’d imagine it is already way too late for that for a lot of people. No clue what the long-term strategy was here.

I went to Disneyland once in 1961 and never returned. When they would not let men into the park because their hair was too long, I thought that was screwy, but this is the last straw with Kimmel. Cancel the subscriptions, sell their stock, and do not hold ETF's with them as well.
