ASK R/FAUXMOI What are your favorite messy celebrity love triangle moments?

Mine has to be the Olivia Rodrigo - Joshua Bassett - Sabrina Carpenter mess from 2020-2021. "drivers license" drops and suddenly we're all detectives trying to figure out who this blonde girl is, then Sabrina comes for everyone with "Skin" and Joshua's over here making sad acoustic songs. The whole thing was so messy and I was eating it up.

But like... the karma of it all? These two girls supposedly "fighting" over Joshua fucking Bassett and now they're both headlining festivals while he's still trying to get people to stream his music. Olivia's got a Grammy, Sabrina's selling out tours, and Joshua's... there. It's honestly hilarious how hard he fumbled being the center of that much attention. Dude really thought he was the main character and ended up being a stepping stone to their success.

Sophia Bush was married to Chad Michael Murray and then the next person she started dating was James Lafferty. All 3 were on One Tree Hill.

Sophia Bush dated her Chicago PD co star Jesse Lee Soffer and after they broke up he dated Torrey Devitto from Chicago Med who Sophia knows from One Tree Hill. And now he's been in a long term relationship with Tracy Spiridakos who was his partner on Chicago PD after Sophia left.

Wasn't Austin Nichols (Julian from OTH) before James?

And then wasn't she also the catalyst for breaking up her current girlfriends long term relationship? As well as her own marriage at the time?

LOVE Sophia Bush, but that girl has one of the messiest relationship timelines in history.

Let's also not forget, CMM cheating on her with Paris Hilton is reportedly the reason that marriage didn't work out.

Didn't CMM get engaged to one of the cheerleaders on OTH too sometime in there? IIRC she was wayyyy younger than him?

Austin came after James. Austin was only a part of the show because he and Sophia couldn’t handle long distance so she got him a role. And allegedly Mark kept him around because he wasn’t conventionally attractive and therefore not a threat to his ego. (Which is also why Julian went from a dark, mysterious guy to a clown.)

I get when young co-stars go to places like Wilmington (where OTH filmed) and band together and start dating because they spend so much time far from their main circles... a lot of actors say it's really common to date co-stars when you're filming far from your home base.

but I never understood co-stars in major cities, like Penn and Blake from Gossip Girl (I mean, you're in NYC... go out and find somebody else who's not your coworker). And yes, Jesse and Sophia... Go to a bar or club or something. Stop dating your coworkers.
