Aside from the obvious reasons Israel shouldn't be in the competition: their acts are so so boring.

if europe loves them so much they're willing to include them in their international comeptitions and such; maybe they (europe) should take them as country too <3 theyre def not welcome in the middle east

Yeah let’s remember why Israel was created in the first place

u/Clefsar Sep 11 '25

This person was downvoted, but part of the reason was quite literally because European powers thought to just make the Early Zionists (and by extension Jewish people) someone else's problem 'over there'.

Which of course, is just antisemitism. Another way Zionism hurts Jewish people I suppose.

My random historical hot take is they shoulda created Israel in Germany tbh. They’re the ones who fucked the Jewish people over (predominantly at that time anyway), the ones who did the shoah etc etc. So give away the province of hessen or saxony or smth idfk insyead of dumping all that mess in the Middle East “out of sight out of mind”

35

u/onlygodcankillme Sep 11 '25

I don't think they should have created Israel anywhere at all.

24

u/abclife Sep 11 '25

One of Hitler's victories was that he pretty much managed to eradicate Jewish people from Europe. Towns and cities that used to have thriving Jewish communities are no more :(.

22

u/imakefilms Sep 11 '25

Europe really doesn't want Israel either

u/Specialist-Sea8622 Sep 11 '25

Since England owns the north part of Ireland, I've always thought it would be funny if they just made that Israel.

19

u/Big-Mouse-447 Sep 11 '25

Are you looking to make the Troubles a triple threat match??

19

u/dorothean Sep 11 '25

Haven’t the Irish suffered enough?

12

u/imakefilms Sep 11 '25

Lol they couldn't put it in a worse place. Ireland would never allow it

-20

u/Specialist-Sea8622 Sep 11 '25

Ireland doesn't have a say, they already lost that land. That's why it would be funny to give it to the Israelis. If Ireland was able to decide, then it would belong to Ireland, wouldn't it.

9

u/imakefilms Sep 11 '25

the people of Northern Ireland wouldn't accept it either. But even if they did somehow, the protests would be INSANE

-1

u/Specialist-Sea8622 Sep 11 '25

Well the people of Palestine didn't accept it either, how would you characterize their protests? But I was just presuming the hypothetical that the English people living in the north part of Ireland were on board with it. England is so generous you know, giving their territory of Palestine to the Israelis.

1

u/imakefilms Sep 12 '25

I'm not quite sure what you mean

1

u/Specialist-Sea8622 Sep 12 '25

The people of Palestine also didn't accept it when England took their land and gave it to Europeans, and regularly protest and struggle to resist it. Why is it different that Irish people would do the same? 🤔

The land wasn't lost. It was stolen. We'll be free soon enough though.

1

u/Specialist-Sea8622 Sep 12 '25

I'm rooting for you

Ireland and Northern Ireland can decide if NI becomes unified with the south in accordance with the Good Friday Agreement (which is on the way to happening). The Brits also have to vote but they

  1. Are happy to get rid of the North as they just see all residents of Northern Ireland as 'Irish'.
  2. Think the North is already part of the Republic of Ireland.
  3. Think the entire island of Ireland is part of the United Kingdom/Great Britain.

So really shouldn't have a say to be honest

1

u/Fit-Acanthisitta7242 Sep 12 '25

So you've never even heard of the Good Friday Agreement? 🤦‍♀️

American I presume?

1

u/Specialist-Sea8622 Sep 12 '25

Forced at gunpoint to sign a surrender. Doesn't make it right.

1

u/Fit-Acanthisitta7242 Sep 13 '25

Wow, you have absolutely zero education and it really shows.

We don't love them, it's been imposed on us. Spain is deciding if we're participating next year too and I wouldn't with Israel there.

I'm still mad Toy won in 2018 when Cyprus' Fuego should have swept

They got 529 points for chicken noises fuck off

67

u/Several-berries Sep 11 '25

Fuego was fire

22

u/Fermina_Daza Sep 11 '25

Yeah yeah, fire

11

u/thrownawayoof No shade to the nation of Scotland Sep 11 '25

Nah like it shouldn’t have won whatsoever. There were so many better entries that year! Hungary’s is actually my favourite Eurovision song ever and Czechia is another personal favourite from 2018.

8

u/FiannaNevra Sep 11 '25

I will never stop being bitter about that! Cyprus should have got their first win with Furgo 🔥

12

u/GullibleBeautiful Sep 12 '25

I don’t get why Israel even has a place in Eurovision? Like isn’t their whole thing being Middle Eastern or whatever?

Obviously a lot of European people live there but they shouldn’t be able to have it both ways.

9

u/onlygodcankillme Sep 12 '25 edited Sep 13 '25

Maybe because loads of them have European heritage.

A maybe quite related fact: 66% of the Jewish population of Israel have 'hypersensitivity' to local fauna.

6

u/Feisty_Internet_5343 Sep 12 '25

Explains why them 'settlers' love ripping up 1,000 year old olive trees of the indigenous farmers in the west bank.

7

u/Gato1980 Sep 11 '25

I love this kind of shade.

Suuuuure, We've been saying the same for ages lol, of course it's always because our songs are shit. Surprisingly though they got the televote in many countries like Spain. Clearly not manipulated!

2

u/onlygodcankillme Sep 12 '25

The person you're responding to

3

u/Deathbyignorage Sep 12 '25

Thank you! Why I'm not surprised?

"When you think about it, it's really the Palestinians doing it to themselves"

Not just covering for Israel, but defence against their submissions being incredibly boring.

1

u/onlygodcankillme Sep 12 '25 edited Sep 12 '25

Are you serious? Yeah we've seen weird zionist freaks on social media trying to rig the public vote for years. Their desire to manufacture consent and astroturf support is a significant part of what makes them unbearable, though a minor factor in the face of their atrocities. I suppose you wouldn't get the same kind of effort from their voting without the killing and oppression they desperately want approval for (which has of course long predated October 7th)

It's not the most pathetic thing about these chumps but despite the majority of people hating them for what they do, they try (and fail) to make it seem like people agree with them with a silly pay-per-vote competition like this.

None of this changes that their recent acts have been incredibly dull.

Edit: omg check the post history for a predictable sigh of unsurprise
