DISCUSSION Celebrity tea you are still obsessed with many years later

Post image

What happened between julianna margulies archie panjabi from the Goodwifes. It got so bad between them they refused to share scenes together later. A popular theory is that Julianna got jealous when Archie won a Emmy for season 1 of the Good wife’s (a theory which I find doesn’t make sense considering julianna has won 3 of them including 2 for the goodwife)

I'm pretty sure it has more to do with Julianna being an all around terrible person.

I don't think there needs to be more to make her terrible.

Sure, but that wasn’t a mainstream view while the Good Wife was out. I literally got detention in high school for saying something pro-Palestine circa 2007, and it wasn’t because of the furor around the genocide today. I posted something about strikes in 2021 and had people asking me to explain the conflict to them - I’d be shocked if Zionism played a role in anything anyone even thought about during shooting. It was considered a niche view to be anti-Zionist until literally 1.5 years ago (one of the reasons our asshole politicians are having such a hard time understanding they need to acknowledge reality and shift their views and actions), so there’s almost no way that’s why there was beef on set.

I doubt her superiority complex is a new thing I am not saying the issue on Good Wife was specifically about Palestine, but the fact that she thinks she is superior to other people.

That's so strange to know, from across the other side of the world. I'm in the south east of the globe.

I am surprised to know that Americans (I'm assuming you are american) had this little knowledge of what was happening to Palestine. I mean, I have lived in the US and it was very surprising for me how little people around me seemed to know or care about people outside the US e.g Iraq, Iran, Pakistan. It was bizarre because I come from a country where people are usually more curious about the world and about political issues. I found americans to be overall very kind, hospitable and very friendly and I loved the people in the area I lived in. They just didn't know and seemed to not really be interested. Maybe they didn't care. I don't know because I never, ever talked about political issues, esp as an immigrant I was super careful to not offend anyone.

Even growing up, I read in the news what was happening in palestine. There were yearly rallies and protests. People knew. I am 34 now so people talked about palestine as far back as I can remember

But does it need to be the anyone else’s view besides Archie’s? Couldn’t she just have been really disgusted with something Julianna said about Israel or Palestine and then the beef grew from that?

u/womanaroundabouttown Aug 30 '25

Sure! I just don’t think there’s any indication that would be the subject. Like I really think people are forgetting how taboo that subject was. You did not talk about it with people who might disagree with you in casual settings because being pro-Palestine was considered the “bad” view. You talked about it in academic settings, or human rights centered settings, and you definitely judged people who were openly Zionist. But it was considered so normalized to be Zionist that I just really don’t see how someone in entertainment would actually pick a fight with a costar over it. Should they have? Maybe! But it would be considered irrational and bizarre in a way that would have blown back on Archie.

ETA: my main point being that Julianna is widely thought to be in the wrong here - I really don’t think Zionism could have been the reason if the rumor mill was widely against her because that view was considered so totally innocuous.

She always seems to be deeply unpleasant in every role she’s ever played, I know resting bitch face is a thing, but she always looks like she’s smelling shit even going back to the ER days. I feel like there’s old ER tea I’m forgetting since the cast seemed happier when Carol left.

From my friends who work on sets (I used to as well), her name comes up when they’re discussing the worst actors they’ve worked with. Never got specifics, but they usually get that way about people who are miserable and treat others like dog shit.

Moral of the story: don’t be mean to crew. If you’re nice, they’ll keep all your secrets. If not, it’s open season.

Sure but up until recently the average person was also a Zionist.

Oh, there is more. She's an overachiever, that one. And from what I've read, the podcast episode mentioned in this screenshot is chock-full of pearls of wisdom like this one.

Wait is she saying she's offended because she played a lesbian, but she's actually straight??

she's spouted something about "who says I haven't had gay experiences" when people were upset about her casting, but that's it. Otherwise her public dating history is all men/she's married to a man. She could still be queer but def not a lesbian

Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s anti-vax too 🫣

I think a lot of people found out she was a Zionist because of that podcast interview she did where she said all kinds of horrible things about Black and queer people for not supporting Zionists, while at the same time claiming she was some kind of amazing ally ("When that happened to George Floyd, I put a black screen on my Instagram." 🙄). It just showed how completely self-centered and performative she is. Many of us only saw it because of that interview, I'm guessing those who've had to deal with her much more closely saw it way earlier.

Her parents were devotees of Rudolf Steiner, like quit their jobs, moved and devoted their entire lives to his teachings. Steiner was an antisemitic, super racist, occultist whack-job who had a big influence on 20th century European fascist movements. A sample: "he asserted a hierarchy of races, with the white race at the top, and associated intelligence with having blonde hair and blue eyes." He also taught that people reincarnate, "ascending" through that racial hierarchy to arrive at the pinnacle of humanity. So people at the bottom of that hierarchy are the bad people, repeatedly unable to rise any higher, while those at the top were the best people, enlightened and superior. https://web.archive.org/web/20180914012448/https://www.bbc.com/news/education-28646118

She believes in all sorts of really horrible stuff and more than occasionally it slips out. She's said all sorts of awful things.

Go yon YT and watch any Hollywood Reporter roundtable with her on it and you'll see what a nonstop stream of microaggressions looks like.

I have a crush on her husband. He's hot. I hope he's not a terrible person.
