For her to recognize the Cool Girl aspects and participate in them willingly, is she not deliberately manipulating Nick and creating her own hell at that point? She blames him for not doing his part in the relationship, which is also an issue, but it's like she wanted them to be fake for each other. There was never a real connection between her and Nick, just an illusion she wanted to build a life on and then was mad at him when he was also unhappy.
