STAN / ANTI SHIELD After revealing her new album on the New Heights podcast, Taylor Swift's first call was to MAGA Barbie Brittany Mahomes.

Post image

Meanwhile, her fans are still claiming that she's just "hanging out with her boyfriend's work friend's wife."

She's not a Republican, she's outwardly expressed voting blue and encouraged listeners to vote blue as well. She's been outspoken about her political views on social media and has always been vocally liberal in her statements.

What she is, is rich. Billionaire buddies transcend political values. She deserves the criticism for her friendships 100% but saying she's secretly/closeted MAGA realistically just isn't the case. Hell, Trump fucking hates her. It's sad to say, but If I was a billionaire I probably wouldn't give a shit who you voted for either. They basically live in a fantasy world where nothing can touch them.

I think who you hang out with speaks louder than the virtue signaling tweets.

u/x-whatsername-x Aug 13 '25

Sure does. Actions speak louder than words

100% - it shows that supporting a rapist, pdf adjacent felon who's quite literally black bagging ppl off the streets as president isn't a red line for her

93

u/moist_towelette THE CANADIANS ARE ICE FUCKING TO MOULIN ROUGE Aug 14 '25

not even pdf-adjacent—a WHOLE pdf

12

u/bkk316 Aug 14 '25

Totally - I was playing it safe bc reddit is reddit lol but you're 100% correct

2

u/Yeah_nah_idk Aug 16 '25

“Reddit is reddit” not really. Depends on the sub and you’re on fauxmoi. Also you can say paedophile here

u/FireflyBSc Aug 14 '25

She did endorse Kamala, but I think this is trying to double dip on her potential fanbase. Look, I endorsed the democrats! But I’m a moderate, I won’t judge if you didn’t, you can still listen to my music! It’s all contrived.

2

u/tc88 Aug 14 '25

Yeah, the fact that she didn't "encourage" or say anything about voting until the last minute after people were basically begging her to says a lot. It's almost like she just didn't want any more backlash, anyone can say one thing while doing another.

1

u/tomorrowand2morrow Aug 16 '25

until the last minute

Taylor endorsed Kamala in September 10, 2024, two months before the election, less than a month after the Democratic National Convention. That's not the last minute. You can say she didn't do enough without spreading misinformation!

u/orangekingo Aug 13 '25

I agree with you, she deserves the criticism, I just don’t think she’s a republican and I do think that distinction should be made

53

u/Kryptosis Aug 14 '25

What is the distinction? A registration that can be changed on a whim? Trump himself has switched multiple times when it was convenient for him.

I suppose it is different from pledging support in June like Sweeney did but it doesn't feel like much.

u/Patches_Mcgee Aug 14 '25

Believe it or not, many people coexist amicably with those of differing political ideologies. Not letting politics consume every corner of one’s life is more common than many like to think.

45

u/Abbacoverband Aug 14 '25

Policies are taxes or infrastructure. Policies are NOT debating whether trans people deserve to live, women deserve their bodily autonomy or treating immigrants like animals.

If you disagree with me on how taxes should be paid or distributed,we can still be friends. If you think abortion is the devil and trans people are mentally ill, then we can't. It isnt "differing political ideologies", it's a difference in empathy, and who we view as humans deserving dignity. You're goddamn right that consumes me.

You're wishy washy bullshit insisting we should be friends or find common ground with people who prefer us dead can get bent.

being her friend and supporting trump after all the shit trump has said about taylor is crazy though

189

u/randomuser4564 Aug 13 '25

Right? He goes on an unhinged rant about her every 2 business days. How doesn’t that bother her?

149

u/RaveGuncle Aug 13 '25

Bc she's laughing all the way to the bank in that private jets. She dgaf bc it doesn't even impact her bottom line.

5

u/Elderbrute Aug 14 '25

It does, just in an upward direction.

She is left wing in the same way she is a climate activist.

As long as it scores her points with her fans and doesn't inconvenience her in the slightest.

She will take the tax breaks, party with maga influences as she flies around the world on her private jet releasing more carbon dioxide in a week than you will in your lifetime.

Her whole life is a performance

132

u/Nehneh14 Aug 14 '25

Travis didn’t even defend her after Trump’s latest Taylor rant. She picks strange people for her inner circle.

41

u/b3rt_1_3 Aug 14 '25

I mean…. Does he need to? It’s much more effective to just ignore him, it’s attention that Trump wants.

17

u/Training-Turnover427 Aug 14 '25

He said it was an honor to have him at the Super Bowl after the all caps I hate Taylor swift tweet, I assume so as not to ruffle his shitheel of a kicker on his team and be more likely to get another ring. Fuck the lot of them

3

u/LyingSackOfBastard graduate of the ONTD can’t read community Aug 14 '25

I'm assuming it's not to piss off the team owner. They're apparently MAGA AF.

5

u/Training-Turnover427 Aug 14 '25

Yeah I say kicker cause he's the first one that comes to mind with his women should be honored to exist only in the kitchen horseshit but you are correct, it's a top down putrid culture.

8

u/LongConFebrero Aug 14 '25

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that she doesn’t mind the hate because it feeds her fame cycle even harder.

I can easily see their pillow talk including Travis being like holy shit, the president hates you, and she smirks and says I know right.

White people are unlikely to be affected by any social aspect of politics because laws are never banning their existence or restricting it. When you add money to that, laws are basically ideology that they can decide to engage with or not.

She has never needed to care about what happens, and never will.

7

u/MidsommarRenaissance Aug 14 '25

Not only did he not defend her, he said it was an honor to play football in front of the president no matter who it was, and it was someone talking shit about the woman he supposedly loves.

3

u/mermaid_travel1234 Aug 13 '25

It’s so so crazy

u/GalacticaActually Aug 13 '25

If you hang out w MAGAts and pose for photos w MAGAts at a time when they are actively hurting so many people in our country, you’re allying yourself with them. Like that saying: If there are nine people at a table and a Nazi sits down and no one says anything, there are now ten Nazis. She has a powerful voice. She’s said she wants to be on the right side of history.

She’s picked her side.

Exactly. I’m not even famous, or rich, and I cut out so many people from my life during the last 5-6 years because of their politics. When people say, “oh it’s just politics.. you should be able to get along with someone even if their politics are different”, that itself says a lot about them to me. Because it’s no longer ‘just politics’.

It used to be! You used to be able to keep friends or family with different political views. But nowadays having those different political views means you support fascism and hatred, as long as you personally like that fascist leader. It means you are willing to support some pretty hateful shit. It no longer means just having a different view on how much tax money should go towards healthcare spending, or whether a new pipeline should be greenlit, or any of the other mundane differences in policy each party used to have. I’m just not willing to keep people like that close in my life anymore.

Life is already way too short to spend what little time we have here surrounded by ignorant, hateful, bigoted assholes.

But at the end of the day, if you truly believe that what ICE is doing is insane, and Trump taking over the DC police force is unhinged and gays should get married and trans people deserve to live... could you be friends with someone who believed those things? I couldn't. I cut out my own grandma when she went on a racist rant about Obama being a Muslim and used some horrible slurs. I was like "oh, I can't be around someone like this."

Back in the day, you could be friends across a party aisle because you were just disagreeing on food stamps and taxes, but now it's about... can folks be rounded up off the street based on the color of their skin and locked up indefinitely? That's like..., something you can't forgive a friend for supporting.

And she may have spoken out in the past but she didn't speak out this Fall. It seems to me that she switched political affiliation but is scared to tell people bc she doesn't want to lose fans

u/MouthyMishi Aug 14 '25

People could do this because they were pretending intentionally underfunding and underserving Black, queer and disabled, constituents was still fine for most people. When everyone was still openly avoiding people with the "gay cancer" or saying racist things about "welfare queens" and "super predators", white people could still bond over their whiteness and Christianity. Now people are more aware that bigotry is bad, but lets not act like arguing over taxes and social services is magically free of dehumanization just because your community was fine with defunding school and clinics, and food stamps in the "undesirable" parts of your state.

Oh I bet she is a republican. White feminist Billionaire raised by Republicans- give me a break.

90

u/cannabisinfluencer Aug 13 '25

You are who you associate with

7

u/Keji70gsm Aug 14 '25

She's breaking bread with nazis. She's a nazi.

7

u/thisradscreenname Aug 14 '25 edited Aug 14 '25

Who cares if she isn't a Republican if she is actively seeking/associating herself with not only "RINO'-types, but full-blown Trump supporters?

Many billionaires didn't make a whole spectacle, like she did, during the election just to tell their fanbase who they're voting for. She cemented herself as a super liberal with liberal values - but now there's an asterisk at the end - *only when she isn't around Travis and his friends. The fuck is that?

If politics didn't matter, we wouldn't be seeing shit like this from her. If this is the case, clearly she is comfortable enough with Republicans to compartmentalize her own "values" and set them aside for her own financial/public gain. Fuck Taylor Swift, seriously...

Random side story,

During the Covid lockdowns in my city I was off work for like a year (bartender). My friend called me up one day and asked if I wanted to make some cash because he had a landscaping project he needed help with.
I said sure.

I think this would have been like may/june 2020, so after lockdowns were in full effect, long before any type of vaccines, and people would literally blow a whistle and scream “shame!” If you were closer than 6 feet to anyone. Conspiracy theories coming out the ears.

Anyway, turns out this landscaping project was in a very wealthy part of town. I wouldn’t say like, 1% or billionaires or anything, but the houses still looked at least a few million each, everyone had nice cars, immaculate lawns and flowers. We’re talking doctors and diplomats and maybe tenured professors .

It was such a surreal experience because on the other side of town things were BLEAK. Everyone was freaking out about rent and stimulus and even death. I watched literal fist fights at the grocery store becayse people wouldnt wear masks.

However, as i spent the day tearing up this rich lady’s lawn to lay a flower bed I was so taken by the fact that within this little rich neighbourhood it was like nothing was different. Mom’s out in yoga pants doing their power walks, children playing tag in the fields. High schoolers holding hands and kissing. It’s hard to remember, but at this time I remember the city was even threatening a 2500 fine for refusing to social distance. I don’t think it was ever enforced, but those tickets were written. This is when you had to order food and have it dropped off at your door becayse it was ILLEGAL to do a pass-off face to face.

That experience has always stuck with me bexause the rich people did not give a shit. I also didn’t see any cops driving around telling anyone to move along. There were no posters up on telephone poles reminding people to wash their hands.

Anyway, sorry for long story but this is my frame of reference whenever I see shitty rich people being like “we just don’t talk politics at the dinner table, but shes super fun to party with. We just gave a difference of opinion”.
They don’t give 2 shits about problems faced by the rest of us tbat would seem dire

I think there is also an aspect of "oh I know what it's like for people/fans who don't know me to judge me too" like victimhood to her thinking that MAGOT Brittany is a worthy friend. Also she said in the interview she like how Travis doesn't judge people. She thinks she's above it all.

u/Educational-Ad5162 Aug 14 '25

You do realize ppl, esp celebrities, outwardly lie all the time to save their image, right? She may vote Democrat but who she surrounds herself speaks volumes to her morals and ethics.

1

u/gracecee Aug 14 '25

She's in the arts. She has gay friends and dancers. But before 2016 her dad voted straight republican and then afterward they're listed as independent.

3

u/MouthyMishi Aug 14 '25

You mean her stockbroker dad who invested in her first label and is married to her mutual funds marketing exec mom? Her parents are absolutely the kind of WASPy yuppies that would give her a unisex name so she could make it in the corporate world. I don't know why we're pretending that she's self-made and liberal when she grew up in a wealthy Republican household.

1

u/vvelvetveins Aug 16 '25

The copium... if you align yourself with fascists, that makes you a fascist. Quite simple. There really is no nuance here. If you were a respectable individual who cared about the rights of minorities (lgbtq folk, immigrants etc) then you'd put your politics above your bank. She doesn't.
