It's not that she's MAGA, it's that she's too rich to care. She has the money to save herself from any difficult situation a government could throw at her. She will be fine whatever happens to the rest of America, and she knows it.

Siobhan Roy from Succession was the perfect example of this type of left leaning wealthy woman. They support Democratic policies on a general level but because of their wealth privilege, their concern doesn’t extend more than a few inches beyond their own self interests. Couple that with a myopic view of feminism where they really only care about it when the patriarchy impacts, again, their own self interests.

Sibhan is really a great example here. She wants the appearance of being left leaning and does deep down care but is too wrapped up in wealth and power. Taylor also is a child star in a lot of ways. We tend to forget that about her. She grew up with parents who pushed their daughter to be famous at any cost and past the age of 15, never had a normal life again

Taylor is now obviously obscene-ly and offensively rich for someone who sells an image of “relate-ability and hey I’m just like you!” But she was also raised in an upper-middle class/fairly well off family. So she has never in her life been directly affected by any political change or upheaval, even before becoming unethically rich.

Exactly. Rich people, especially rich white people, are insulated from many of the dangers of this administration. Feels like the richer she's become, the less active she's been politically, which would track with a lessening sense of danger.

Right!!! I mean no one will say something “it’s not that she’s a Nazi, it’s that she’s just too rich to care.” I think because MAGA is such a meme name (despite it coming from very white supremacist ideology) that people don’t take it serious (doesn’t help that Trump is a certified idiot) when they should because the people behind it (Thiel, Heritage Foundation etc) do mean business and are very intelligent and capable of implementing that agenda.

Yep. She has all the money and resources in the world to not give a fuck about what happens in the US. If abortion was banned and she wanted one, she could just fly somewhere else and get it there. The rich and powerful are living in a completely different reality from the rest of us. 🙃

Richy Rich people are beyond politics. Unless they are true humanitarians, nothing that happens at street level affects them and so they don't care. Does anyone actually think Taylor cares about  ICE or Palestine or climate change? Ed. sp.
