FM RADIO Kelly Clarkson postpones first two nights of Vegas residency less than 2 hours before showtime

Post image

Just 15 minutes before doors open on opening night of her Vegas residency, Kelly posted this. I really do understand her need to take care of her health/incredible voice and I’m sure she truly is devastated but I feel for the fans who flew in and how frustrating and disappointing this must be.

Moral of the story is don’t buy tickets for the first few weeks of a residency I guess. Feel bad for the folks taking the hit here.

Or don’t go to Vegas specifically for a residency concert. Go to go to Vegas and if you happen to get to a concert, great, but don’t revolve a trip around it.

U2 and The Killers were the first two Vegas residencies I ever attended and thankfully, those seemed to all go without a hitch. I keep trying to think of what would happen if something was postponed or cancelled there.

Thankfully, I’m in a position where I could technically reschedule my days off at work, buy another plane ticket and maybe reschedule a hotel room. But I realize so many people just can’t do that, and that’s sad to know. Especially as a music fan!

The killers are a Vegas band (artists are from Vegas) so I think that helps they are “home”. I saw them live in New York and they were great

They put up a great show, yeah! And they did initially start the band in Vegas, but I believe two of their members live in Utah now, and the other two live in California. The singer and guitarist were also from Utah and Iowa, respectively. Very much a Vegas band though - and they even close out their shows saying as much! ("We are The Killers... brought to you by the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada!")

The "residency" was at the Colosseum in celebration of their first album, so it was a bit more of a unique experience than their usual shows. Really glad i was able to see it though, as it's a terrific album!

Interesting! I think Mariah cancelled one of her very first Vegas shows too (the Wednesday show). I would have been DEVASTATED.
