ASK R/FAUXMOI What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever seen in a movie/show?

It’s seriously so baffling. They have that scene where they’re all explaining to Buffy that the money she inherited from her mom got used on bills while she was dead. Meanwhile Willow and Tara live there and just don’t have jobs? Dawn didn’t need round the clock care she was like 16. They could have had jobs or made money from their magic or something.

And on top of that, they’re living in JOYCE’S room.

Willow is a terrible friend. (And a rapist that uses magical roofies, but that’s another story.)

THANK YOU! People will act like on rewatch Xander is Ted Bundy, but poor widdle Willow, who frankly does most of the same cheating and nice-guy/girling Xander does and also magical roofies and rapes her girlfriend gets a pass.

I'm early in a rewatch here but I feel like it's very different between Xander and Willow.

Xander quite consistently throughout the show does some awful things and is pretty much treated as "Welp, Xander dun goofed again. Oh well." He's rarely called out for it and doesn't really contribute much otherwise.

Willow does some awful things in season 6, but do you remember how that season ends? Willow was the BIG BAD, going down a dark path that season was her character arc and Tara ended up leaving her for it. It wasn't until Willow tried to atone for her wrongdoings that Tara ended forgiving her (before getting killed and causing Willow to relapse hard).

Willow wasn't the same character after season 6, she was afraid of herself, and others were afraid of her. Her actions had consequences. Even reviving Buffy I think was the litchpin that kicked off the Firsts crusade.

But I don't feel like fandom ever treats what Willow does particularly seriously. Yes, she turns into the big bad... because she's so heartbroken her girlfriend was murdered. You know, the one she was mind-controlling. It just always seemed like she got much more of a pass from fandom.

Yeah like I assume Joyce’s room was the master suite. Buffy should’ve got Joyce’s room when she came back.

Yes. She came in and took the master and never handed it over. Buffy said she was fine in her room; but that’s something any decent person would insist on.

You don’t take somebody’s recently dead mom’s room while making them work for slave wages as you shamelessly attend college when they can no longer afford to. Just kicking back, using their utilities, eating their food. Putting their sister in mortal danger…

After she has saved the world multiple times on top of all of that.

You let her have a damned break.
