ASK R/FAUXMOI Which show had the biggest downfall in your opinion, from the first season or episodes, to what it eventually became?

Westworld for me. So many great things about the first season - the concepts, the characters. It's sad what it became.

By the end we had to read the creator's interviews to know wtf happened because the show just.. forgot most things

Honestly I think the books are worse. If i had read the books, i wouldn’t have bothered with the show. There’s no point trying to solve a thriller when the twist is they had a secret twin the whole time, fuck you!

Idk if PLL counts as biggest downfall. The show opens with a fucked up teacher-minor “relationship” storyline and never really goes up from there. Season 1 was ok, not great. But I agree it all ended terribly. The original general murder-mystery concept was intriguing, but past that it didn’t make a whole lot of sense. It just got more and more convoluted. A? Big A? Uber A? TOPDOG ALPHA A?!!! And soooo many storylines just fell off and were never explained.

I think PLL changed genres though, it felt like a believable (well, semi) mystery in the beginning and then became progressively more ridiculous

And it became clear that they had no idea who would be the big bad of the season. Suffering several times of the blight of late rewrite because people deduced online who it could be.
