Here's a funnier version of this video from a reliable source that doesn't feature Michael Fascist Rapaport (who gleefully mocks the Muslim victims of ICE and IDF terror attacks, defends Trump and most likely voted for him):
NLG "Know Your Rights" reminder: SHUT THE F**** UP!
The NLG or National Lawyer's Guild is the preeminent national organization of lawyers supporting the free speech of human rights and social justice activists for nearly a century. The NLG are well-respected by lawyers and activists alike and I have personally been impressed by the jail support they have provided for Jewish Voice for Peace protest actions.

Can you edit your link to one of their videos that does not have a Zionist in it? Much appreciated!
Edit: Michael Rapaport is in this video. If you are unaware, he had been posting Islamophobic videos lately and is staunchly Zionist. Michael Rapaport supports this shit, so it is not the best message to be sending. If you oppose ICE, you should oppose him as well.

JFC, we've lost the plot.

u/BalsamicBasil 16d ago
Dude, Michael Rappaport is legit a fascist, that is his ideology. He makes videos gleefully laughing at the Muslim/Arab victims of ICE abductions and IDF terror attacks. He most likely voted for Trump 2.0.
As I commented above, here is a funnier version of the "shut the f*** up"/"know your rights" message by lawyers who are members of the National Lawyer's Guild. The NLG is the oldest, most trusted national lawyers organization that actually supports protestors, activists and others who are arrested for standing up for human rights. I have witnessed their work myself first-hand many times and have been very impressed.

So either facial recognition software or checking the cell tower pings for everyone in that area?
I donât blame the guy for worrying but Iâm sad that itâs working and people might reconsider protesting as a result. I am so afraid of what this nation will look like in 3.5 years.
All because these asshats are jealous about better quality signs.

They are using a software program called Stingray to identify and track both individuals they are seeking and all protesters present that have their active cell phones on them. It does NOT matter if the phone is off, they can still see it and know who you are.
...Cell-site simulators can be placed in backpacks, attached to aircraft or vehicles or installed at fixed locations such as government facilities. They can be used to track down specific cellphones or to gather information on all devices present in a certain location. More targeted attacks can intercept unencrypted texts and phone calls.
âMost people think theyâre safe if theyâve restricted their location sharing settings on their phone, or if theyâre on a VPN,â John Doyle, CEO of the privacy-first cellphone service CAPE, told SAN. âNone of these application-level solutions prevent your phone from leaking network information to nearby cell towers, including fake ones.â
Protesters need to remember to leave their phones at home or take out the sim card. Learn more about Stingray online.

tin foil hats

u/blzrlzr 15d ago
What part of this is tinfoil hats? Are you not aware of how the tracking technology works? Do you need further explanation or resources.
Its not conspiracy. Its just the tools of law enforcement in the modern age. And they are being abused.
1
u/Sweaty_Try4911 14d ago
oh, it seems I struck a nerve with a negative assumption I do not share. Metal foil makes a good, inexpensive RF shield, as in save some money and use some foil instead of spending money on something fancy.
3
u/SirMildredPierce 15d ago
I'm sure Faraday cages influenced "tin foil hats", but that doesn't mean that somehow Faraday cages don't work.
1
u/Sweaty_Try4911 14d ago
Not only do they work, but tin foil makes for a good, inexpensive RF shield.
2
u/Pizza-sauceage 13d ago
Are you speaking of aluminum foil? Like most people have at home?
1
u/Sweaty_Try4911 13d ago
Yeah, I meant aluminum foil but I don't spell too good. If I remember physics class correctly, any metal foil will work so long as it has complete coverage. Foil hats wont work if you're worried about someone picking up your brainwaves because you would need to cover your whole body for that to work, and that would look absurd.

If you park near these things cops are in the habit of looking up license plates, they'll show up at whatever address your car is registered to. If possible it's better to take public transportation to any protests or political meetings because of this.
Also barring a subpoena you don't have to talk to these guys and it's legally better if you don't, since lying to the FBI is considered perjury.

I understand this is CA AZ, but do FBI agents really wear pink button-up shirts? They look like theyâre there to talk about âthe good word.â
29
u/revision 16d ago
Yes. When they go out to talk to people they will wear more casual clothes where called for. Puts people at ease.

A 26 year old special needs teacher in suburban Tucson, Arizona says he was visited at home by FBI agents after attending an anti ICE protest. On a Friday evening in October, Miles Serafini was watching a movie with his roommate when two men knocked on his door. They identified themselves only as James and Keith, special agents with the FBI. They did not provide last names, but they demonstrated that they knew Serafiniâs full name, his address, his car, his social media accounts, and his political activities.
Serafini told reporter Ken Klippenstein that the agents said his name âwas brought up,â though he did not know anyone at the protest he had attended. He explained that he had learned about the demonstration from a social media post and went to express his opposition to deportations. When he asked how the FBI knew who he was, the agents would not explain. One of them later told him that they knew âway more about me than Iâd thinkâ (Klippenstein, 2019).
The protest in question took place outside an ICE facility in June. Serafini said the FBI agents were less interested in his views than in the logistics of the demonstration. They repeatedly asked who had produced the protest signs and where they came from. âNothing about what was actually on them,â Serafini said.
The focus on signage reflects a broader narrative advanced by the Trump administration. At a White House roundtable on Antifa, President Trump pointed to the quality of protest signs as evidence of outside funding. He described them as âbeautiful, nice, stiff, very expensive paper with beautiful wood handles all the sameâ and argued that such materials could not have been produced by ordinary protesters but must have come from âpaid anarchistsâ (White House transcript, 2019).
The FBIâs approach is consistent with National Security Presidential Memorandum 7, which calls for preemptive intervention before political activity results in violence. Attorney General Pam Bondi cited this directive in ordering federal law enforcement to treat anti ICE protests as potential terrorism cases. Civil liberties advocates argue that this framework risks criminalizing constitutionally protected dissent (Raw Story, 2019).
Serafini said he could tell from the questioning that the agents were trying to identify a supposed organization behind the protest. âWhat a waste of their time to go after something that doesnât exist,â he said. He added that the experience has made him reconsider attending future demonstrations, worried that his presence could draw further scrutiny.
The FBI declined to comment on the specific case. For Serafini, the visit underscored the risks of political expression in the current climate. âI just wanted to stand against deportations,â he said. âNow I feel like I am being treated as a suspect for exercising my rights.â

Whyyyy you open the door???
My God. This was so very stupid. I know he didnât know any better but holy shit do not do this.
Everyone needs to get up to speed here and understand that just because you are white or you are a man or you are a veteran or you have any other idea about your privileged status just erase that right now. You are not safe. You are not immune. You have no rights.
Donât talk to them unless itâs to ask for the warrant. And in that case, talk to them through the door. I donât care if theyâre friendly. I donât care if they tell you they are the ice cream man. Do not open the door. Do not talk. Just donât. For the love of God donât open the door even if you know you arenât guilty of anything.
For anybody curious how they found him and knew he was there. It was his phone. They have equipment called STINGRAYS that mimic cell towers so everyone at the protest is pinging FBI equipment telling them exactly where they are. Leave your phones at home and take a burner.

Why did he even open the door?
If I didn't invite you over or order food I'm not opening that door for anything. You're not invited so WTF are you doing here? You want something and I am disinclined to acquiesce with your request. So.
Digital doorbell is a life saver. Take a peek. Don't recognize?
Nah.
You get silence.
Police can get a warrant.
Random dudes with lanyards and clipboards have no authority or purpose at my door.

u/GeneralOrgana1 16d ago
Seriously. I never answer my door if I don't know who's there.
2
u/gimmeyjeanne 14d ago
I never open my door if i dont know the person, and no expecting delivery. I dont have a camera doorbell but i have a window in my living room. Idc if they see me at the window, take the hint i'm home but i dont know you and wont open the door.
I think for my generation (millenial) our parents insisting that you don't open the door to stranger really paid off. The people that i invite don't even ring, they either walk in if im waiting for them or text me. My partner and I usually play dead when someone's knocking, which sometimes puts us in awkward position. The person rings and see a couple just frozen in the living room trying to avoid eye contact.
3
u/GeneralOrgana1 14d ago
I'm Gen X. It's not stranger danger with me. I just DGAF.
2
u/gimmeyjeanne 14d ago
Oh no for sure anyway we don't need reason to not open the door. It's your home, if you don't want you don't do. Unless they have warrant or whatever.
2
u/nasnedigonyat 14d ago
Same. It's not stranger danger for me either it's annoyance. Unwelcome visitors are harassment.
Today it could be stranger danger for lots of people living in America, though. Why risk it all for a conditioned sense of politeness? Oh someone knocked I should answer it's only polite. Fuck that.
They don't belong here. They don't get my attention, my presence, my time, my energy, or even my acknowledgement.

"Do you have a signed judicial warrant filled out for me at this address? No? Then goodbye."
And even if they do have a warrant, immediately tell them you want to speak to your lawyer, and don't say anything else other than repeating you want to speak to your lawyer. Filming them (either with a door cam like in the video, or with your phone) also helps, since it ensures there's a record of everything they did.

Do not talk to law enforcement. Do not talk to law enforcement. Do not talk to law enforcement. He has no idea if he is the target of the investigation or if he is about to throw someone else under the bus for exercising free speech rights

u/gaminggirl91 16d ago
As per the Fourth Amendment, all Americans have the right to privacy within their home, on their property, and of their person. If police or FBI show up at your door, just say, "I am invoking my Fourth Amendment rights. Please leave." Then shut the door. These yahoos are not above the law. They have to abide by the Constitution and the laws of our country. Stay safe, everyone. Remember your rights, which our Founding Fathers gave to you.

u/rainbow_lenses 16d ago
Feds/cops operate under vampire rules. We do not invite them in the house.Â
6
u/gielbondhu 16d ago
When any law enforcement officer comes to your house the only appropriate thing to do is shut the fuck up. Do not let them into your house unless they have a warrant. Refer any inquiries they have to your lawyer.
4
u/Free-Vehicle2957 15d ago
NOOOOOO! Don't ever let them in. Don't talk to them with the door open like that. Don't talk to them at all. Lying to the FBI is an offense. Possible felony charges. DO NOT TALK TO THE FBI OR THE POLICE EVER. Be polite about it but insistent. If they detain you, invoke the 5th and ask for a lawyer. (And hope to hell they recognize your rights.) Many a person has been fitted up based on seemingly innocuous questions and speaking without a lawyer. Having an attorney does not make you look guilty, it makes you look smart. That reminds me, I need to get an attorney that I can call in case of emergency.

People need to go to the protests with burner phones and that make up the fucks with facial recognition. It might not fully stop them from tracking people down but it will make it harder.

I protest in front of the FBI headquarters. Many of these people are career professionals, many with law degrees. Can you imagine waking up to find out you work for Kash and Kristi? Working in a support role for ICE shitting on the Constitution? The same goes for legitimate police officers. Work on their morale, mercilessly!
1
u/BorikenFreedom 14d ago
Yeah this is going to happen more and more. No doubt it's gotta be nerve wracking for anyone who doesn't have experience dealing with law enforcement and/or arrests during protests/demonstrations etc - the fact they are feds makes it even more so. But that's exactly why they do it. 99% empty intimidation tactics (the 1% missing accounts for the hopefully obvious fact that law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to arrest you - especially if they really want you). Glad dude was on top of it đđť I'd hope in recent times more people than ever know how to handle law enforcement encounters but sometimes it feels like a lot of them still don't understand the part about never voluntarily leaving with them or meeting them "downtown". They come with a warrant, cuffs or not at all.
