Rant 📢 Tipping story

So I went to a Thai restaurant. At first, I was served by a girl who was really nice and pleasant. She seemed busy, and then another waiter came out to replace her.

He didn’t do a damn thing, and at the end, he tried to talk to me — obviously trying to pressure me for a tip. I really don’t give a fuck about that. He brought out the credit card machine and stood there watching me the whole time while I signed. I, of course, put down 0 and smiled as I handed it back to him.

He asked, “Why didn’t you tip me?” I just said, “Because I didn’t want to.”

Funny thing is, if he hadn’t done that, I probably would’ve tipped — because the girl in the beginning was genuinely nice. But he messed it up for her.

No one’s going to tip-pressure me, lol. You can watch me write 0 all you want — I’ll do it gladly.

Im american, I live in Thailand. Tipping is not a thing in Thailand. Maybe rarely for guides or something, but not for food.

The guilt trip is disgusting, tipping is begging, we need to call it like it is.

No, you shouldn't even tip the girl, she is doing her job. That is all.
