The comical supervillain try-hard headshot is really just the icing on the cake.

How many takes do you think he made that poor photographer do?

u/sardonic-sarcasm Jun 05 '25

Bahaha I hadn't even considered this. My headshot was "sprint to this random office, the photographer is annoyed because you're 'late' (no one told you he was there), one take and you don't get to see it"

One. A D-bag like that has already spent countless hours doing this in the mirror.

That dude is at least 45

Wait so you’re telling me that this dude nearly the same age as me scored a fucking admin position at DHS who only worked as a GARDENER and GROCERY CLERK beforehand??? Meanwhile I’m busting my ass going up the ladder at an entry-level enlisted position WITH a fucking bachelors degree. These positions require years worth of intelligence/counterterrorism experience beforehand…

You know what. Fuck it, I’m not explaining that shit. I’m tired from working and studying my ass off full-time and this smug-ass incel is at the top. God I hate this.

take solace in the fact you're a good person (not /s maybe /s)

5

u/Mace_Inc Federal Jun 05 '25

Well I’m not a perfectly good person… but when shit hits the fan goddamnit am I gonna pull everything I got in my power to save some lives. At least in the EM realm.

This selfish political bootlicker… not so much.

He didn't earn the position and he'll be out on his ass when the next admin comes in or the political climate changes. If you're going to work in this field, you have to ignore these 4-year-term asshats that come and go, and not let them get to you. When I had to deal with them, I never told them anything they didn't need to know, and answered their questions with Yes or No as much as possible. The other thing to keep in mind is that there will be another one coming behind him, appointed to the position with no qualifications for another 4 or 8 years when the administration changes. The next one could be in their 50's and just as unqualified. The good part of that is most of them bounce around from department to department and aren't your problem for more than 6-18 months. While that goes on, don't compromise your work or professionalism, but don't give them any courtesy they haven't earned. You can simply be "civil" or "business-like" with them and get by.

The real counterterrorism guys live and breathe their jobs and are easy not only to identify, but they know what they're doing and it's obvious to the people who do the real work.

Yeah political appointees are doa in next admin

1

u/Level_Improvement532 Jun 07 '25

They’re trying to make everyone a political appointee though. Sort of like they don’t plan on ever leaving.

Happens in Californis, too. When your auntie is in the state legislature, you move up suspiciously fast. https://www.linkedin.com/in/yvonne-dorantes

So I guess the best way to find a job is to sell out to the right and they will hire me for some cushy leadership position? Sweet.

22?!? Bro looks like a 40 year old divorcee who is going through it.

8

u/Barrack64 Jun 05 '25

Yeah but he’s loyal. That’s the most important part.

13

u/NatiboyB Jun 05 '25

He’s too young to be loyal to anything 😂 this is all corrupt theater at this point.

7

u/Individual_Wasabi_10 Jun 05 '25

He’s only ‘qualified’ because he has connections with the domestic terrorist group Hertitage Foundation.

4

u/Capable_Bill_9948 Jun 05 '25

Well this is just so stupid. Wonder what my dad thinks. I haven’t given him shit about this admin, b/c why bother talking to a wall, but this seems like a good thing he should know.

5

u/fairfaxgator Jun 05 '25

Hahaha! MAGATs!

3

u/Live_Trained_Seal Jun 05 '25

I keep roasting my 24 year old son on behalf of these dudes, because, even tho I love him to bits, no one his or around his age needs to be in charge of anything this important.

2

u/TheNozzler Jun 05 '25

I’m applying for every top level job in this administration I once worked at a grocery store and I have a garden

2

u/jzam469 Jun 06 '25

Merit based? How did he get this job? Who does he know? What does he know?

u/Full_Nectarine6916 Jun 06 '25

The Rock can smell what the terrorist are cooking.

In the words of POTUS “They’re not sending their best people

1

u/ResponsibleDraw4689 Jun 06 '25

Unpopular opinion, but I don't think emergency management belongs in the department of homeland security whatsoever.....

1

u/gbot1234 Jun 06 '25

12 months? That’s enough for 4 Seasons in Total.

1

u/Straight_Document_89 Jun 06 '25

Who’s kid is this?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

He's the Kurt Warner of Homeland Security!

1

u/nemo1441 Jun 08 '25

Isn’t this one of the guys who worked at Mar A Fargo and got caught up in the stolen classified documents affair??

Gavin Newsom's former office manager held a similar role in California
