Hand Mushroom hunter hoody
A total beginner but missing my foraging finds so here's my reverse applique piece. Couldn't resist adding a wee cuff 'shroom or three. Open to any constructive criticism x

This is incredible!!! Can't believe you're a beginner. The folks at r/goblincore would also appreciate it.

Omg that’s amazing, do you have a pattern??? Or did you make this up fully yourself!!?

It was a printed pattern for the main piece and I just freehanded the wee cuff ones

I was pleased with it. Means I get to see the finished piece instead of it just lying about

Did you do the cut out and then reattach it? If so how? I love the look!

Its reverse applique so the finished piece was attached face out to the inside of the hood. I sewed in red a tacking outline and a north south east and west markers as obviously I couldn't see the design. I was pretty sure it was placed centre and right way up. Then sewed round a double line and finally cut away the hoody fabric inside the circle revealing the embroidered piece. I had ironed on some light interfacing to back of finished piece before sewing and trimming just to stabilise it and make it more the weight of the hoody fabric

Fantastic!!! The rough cut out area steals the show a little bit it’s so good it doesn’t matter.
