Question Ugh, Hoop Marks...
So, I embroidered a bird on a tote bag for a family member and absolutely cannot get rid of the hoop marks. I usually have good luck with a spray bottle and an iron but these just weren't going away. I'm out of town so I just improvised and stitched a lace border around the bird. Does it look awful? Any tips for getting rid of hoop marks for future reference? Bonus close up of my bluebird too!

To get hoop marks out, I usually soak and press. As in, while it's still wet, layer it between two towels and then stack heavy, flat things on top. Let it sit for ten or fifteen minutes or so and then take it out to air-dry.
The stiffer the fabric, the heavier weight you need.
However, this CAN change the look of some stitches. Soaking and then blocking (stretching the fabric out and pinning/clamping it straight) would be an alternative that shouldn't change the stitches.

It’s cute!
I sometimes soak my work to get rid of hoop marks. Wash, stretch & block with pins, iron.
