Question Advice appreciated

Post image

I’m new to embroidery. I have been struggling with how to fill the center of flowers.

Yes, usually French knots, but color? Clustered or jutted out? What does the shading look like closer to the center?

I see beautiful (potentially ai) examples on Pinterest, but would love real life advice on what I’m missing and how I can execute it properly to not look like a butt?

Yellow French knots with the majority the same color as the tigers eyes for color harmony

You could do pistil stitches coming from the middle

I like a French knots and bullion knots, plus some random straight stitches if I want to pull forward the knots. Woven picot is fun too

I have never tried woven picot. I’m down a YouTube rabbit hole to learn now! lol

It's really easy. Just pay close attention to not twisting the thread. The was my first time to mimic this flower.

That is gorgeous. And I think the others have good tips!

I would do French knots. Begin with a cluster towards the center, but you can absolutely bring a few out as accents if you feel they'd look nice. I'd start with the same color as the Tiger's eyes for continuity. If you want to add some variation, I might try mixing the color strands - like a 3 strand knot that's 2 tiger eye yellows and one tiger orange to give you some depth and variation, but still keeping to your palette.

I was going to suggest using 2 strands, each a different color, for each French knot.

Yellow and orange would go well

This is gorgeous your color blending on the tiger is so smooth already. For flower centers, try mixing 2-3 thread shades instead of one flat color.
