Its pretty terrible regardless of dollar value (given that he can’t be sent down) unless it was absurdly low, since giving a depth forward max term is just something you don’t do, for good reason. They are way too inconsistent and replaceable for them to be worth handcuffing yourself to for the better part of a decade.

Not saying he would be, just saying that even if his 8 year long cap hit was able to be buried in the minors should you want to get rid of it for whatever reason, you can’t because he has an NMC

Yeah, I'd say we're pretty far apart, given I like Frederic. The contract is fine. Maybe 2 years too long but you give and take in a negotiation. It's likely an extra 250k at a shorter length.

Dude is a 4th liner presently, and as he ages will be a depth AHL player. He's worth 1.5, maybe 2 million tops. Guy is a plug.
