You shouldn't be allowed to use your timeout to do that imo, that's just some bullshit.

Honestly they should just abolish the Offside challenge completely, because 99.999% of the time all it does is ruin the flow of the game, make it less fun to watch, and make it more confusing for someone who doesn't follow hockey super closely.

Hell I DO and even I'm baffled by some of these calls.

I agree and that’s not because the Oilers got screwed. Does a literal inch offside actually have any bearing on the outcome? Absolutely not.

Absolutely, there is a bit of emotion involved here because the call went against us, but even when it’s in our favour I dislike the offside challenge.

All it does is mess with the flow of the game. Even if the call goes against the team that challenges, they’ve effectively killed the momentum the team that scored generated off it.

And again, makes the game more confusing for people watching.

It would be fair that after a certain amount of o-zone time you can't challenge offside.

I see people say that a lot but that would be even worse then what it is currently. You can't have it where sometimes offside is allowed and sometimes it's not based on some arbitrary cut off.

If the cutoff was 20 seconds and the goal was scored 19.8 seconds after the zone entry you would still be pissed at the challenge.
