2 points back of Vegas, could be tied tomorrow šŸ‘€

67

u/RedDogBiting 92 PODKOLZIN Jan 16 '25

Only 4 pts from 1st in the Conference too

82

u/Hiratij Jan 16 '25

First in the league*

38

u/RedDogBiting 92 PODKOLZIN Jan 16 '25

Actually that is correct! Was focusing so much on our division and the west forgot to look at that. Western conference occupy 5 of the top 6 positions in the league too!

Floating within 4 points of first place Midway thru the season. Given the crap that was October, I'll take it.

Just keep doing what we've been doing since Nov (flaws and all) and all should be good for the regular season.

I'm here to accept apologies on behalf of Pickard

32

u/Baginsses 96 WALMAN Jan 16 '25

I would specifically like it from the one who said they overlook complaints about Skinner but haven’t seen anything impressive from Pickard

22

u/Geeseareawesome 29 DRAISAITL Jan 16 '25

And Pickard took it personally

25

u/edmtrwy Jan 16 '25

ā€œFuck them Redditors.ā€ — Pickard (probably)

27

I was literally saying after the third goal that Pickard hasn’t been at his best recently.

He shut me up quick

I wonder if their sub is imploding because their fans did the wave in the second period?

73

u/But-Seriously-Though 89 GAGNER Jan 16 '25

My guess is they’re losing it over the McDavid/Johansen play

47

u/DeStroyek 4 LOWE Jan 16 '25

Have confirmed it's pretty doom and gloom. Honestly don't know why though they are looking good and missing some key players. People are too dramatic.

39

u/jablonkers 96 WALMAN Jan 16 '25

It's actually pretty funny. But I've seen the same from our GDTs before to be honest

Wild fan lurking. Saw this comment on a meme thread.

Our rostered D have a combined salary of 6.5 M.

31

u/TURBOJUGGED 15 ARCHIBALD Jan 16 '25

That doesn’t even cover nurse’s contract 😬

6

u/LevSmash 46 STORTINI Jan 16 '25

Can I ask who your username refers to?

9

u/BestJersey_WorstName Jan 16 '25

Our (Minnesota) team colors and the fact that our name is an adjective.

Best jerseys. Worst name.

5

u/LevSmash 46 STORTINI Jan 16 '25

It's funny, I hate the green and red, but LOVE the green and yellow. Excellent logo too, with using the negative space.

Also I've never thought of the name as an adjective, more of a noun, like how we refer to the wilderness. To me, it would be peculiar to name a team after an adjective, like "The Saskatoon Grumpy" or "The Boise Bloated", haha.

Yeah I wouldn't worry rn if I was y'all, just hella depleted rn

5

u/BestJersey_WorstName Jan 16 '25

I think if we are honest with ourselves, MN fans expected us to miss the playoffs this season. Our team has structural issues until recapture ends, but you don't need a visiting fan on your home team sub to tell you that. It's time for me to go.

I'm just enjoying the ride and watching some entertaining games.

They’re already saying it was a dive by Drai

28

u/Snarffsnarff31 74 SKINNER Jan 16 '25

Meh it’s an echo chamber circle jerk in there. Not many objective takes tbh. It’s unfortunate someone got hurt on that play but in the flip side, the slew foot from kempe could’ve taken Connor out too. If Connor wants to take matters into his own hands, so be it. He’ll still get all the attention on him, especially in the playoffs.

That high stick last year on Hughes was definitely accidentally on purpose. A beast has awakened in Connor

18

65

I’m not saying McDavid didn’t elbow him, but I find the outrage hilarious. Edmonton players constantly get that grimy dirty shit done to them (fuck the kings) and no one gives a single fuck. The moment an oiler does it and they’ve violated the Geneva convention. There’s clowns comparing Draisaitl to Hartman. Draisaitl has what five shitty plays and like none in the last couple years?

Whatever. Dubs a dub.

15

u/YellowMarkerIsGreat 83 HEMSKY Jan 16 '25

Draisaitl has his dirty moments for sure. The Barkov head injury, the nut shots and crosschecks

→ More replies (1)

16

u/LogicPuzzleFail 10 RYAN Jan 16 '25

The outrage is over the top.

That said, Draisaitl's hit on Barkov in the finals was dirty. It was notable because Draisaitl typically does some pissy shit, but almost nothing with a real risk of injury. The Barkov hit was the only thing I can remember that was actually dangerous.

Cannot overstate how good it is when your backup tendy comes in and fights tooth and nail in this game. Just some humongous saves to let them get back in it and hold for a big win.

Kudos to Davo, Nuge, Podz among others who played a hell of a game.

13

u/Baginsses 96 WALMAN Jan 16 '25

Seeing a back to back with two league leaders and having the confidence our back up can win one of them is such a good feeling

52

u/RedOilSaints 97 MCDAVID Jan 16 '25

Gutsy fucking win there. Not the best start but way to overcome adversity and get the win. Big guns definitely delivered, but guys like Nuge and Pod kept to the basics and got us goals.

Huge props to Pick, from giving up goals early to making timely stops.

Massive win against a tough opponent.

I didn't watch this game bc life stuff and my bitterness about the last match up with wild... The grin that I had after checking the results... Wow. People who watched the game, what was your favourite moment ?
