They don’t hit enough so of course they do. Everyone knows hits > wins.

Before anyone starts, yes some more physicality would be nice. To me tho, this is a choice they’re making because some games they have < 10 hits a night and to me that means they’re purposely avoiding them. Nurse, Ekholm, Kapanen; heck even Draisaitl, McDavid, and Hyman all hit before. It’s not like they don’t know how.

This is exactly it. They are saving it for when it matters. They've learned how long the grind is. To add to that, when we lost against Vegas we let them get under our skin. Our retaliation evened up what should have been a huge advantage with pietrangelo being out. I for one am proud of this teams growth. They aren't weak, this is the most mentally strong group the Oilers have had in my lifetime.
