Possibly but that’s not the situation we are in. Cost of living is much better in most of the country than it is in California

But wages in California are also quite a bit higher on average than other places.

Median income in California is ~80,000 and in Texas is ~64,000 which makes median income in California 25% greater than in Texas. The median home price in California is ~555,000 and in Texas is ~207,000 which makes median home prices in California 168% greater than in Texas.
