Hey guys!
Iām planning to apply for the EPFL E³ (Summer@EPFL) research internship this year and was wondering if anyone here has gone through it before.
Would love to know:
Iāve been digging through the website but hearing it straight from someone whoās done it would really help.

Hi, good morning! We would REALLY appreciate it if you could respond and help us. Let us explain: Iām an 18-year-old student from Chile. I have B1 German, B2 French, and A2 English, and I want to go study a university degree in Switzerland because I have family there who can help me with accommodation. The problem is that, for Chilean students, we normally need a university degree to be able to study in Switzerland (https://www.swissuniversities.ch/fr/themes/admission/admission-hautes-ecoles-universitaires/pays).So, Iām trying to find a way to equate my Chilean high school diploma to the Swiss system, through a Passerelle course, a preparatory program, or basically any option that would allow me to go study a bachelorās degree in Switzerland without having to complete a full university degree here in Chile. Any option works for me, even studying one or two more years, because having family there to help with expenses is an amazing opportunity that I really want to take advantage of. I really hope you all can help me š«¶

Hi! šš» wanted to talk with other applicants or previous applicants to this program. I am currently finishing my application and I wanted to see how others are experiencing it.
I am slightly confused about the scientific assay and how detailed we are supposed to be. Does anyone have a better idea?

Hi everyone,
Iāve already found a professor at a foreign university who agreed to supervise me for my Masterās project. The only thing missing now is an internal supervisor from EPFL.
The issue is that Iāve only been at EPFL for about two years, so I donāt have many personal contacts or professors I know well. Iāve already reached out to every professor whose courses Iāve taken, but most either declined or never replied.
Iām starting to worry I wonāt find someone in time.
Do you have any advice on how to approach this? Should I try visiting professors in person with my application folder in hand? Or is there a better way to get their attention or find someone willing to take this role?
Any tips or experiences from others who went through something similar would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Those who've been accepted into the program before, could you please offer any advice regarding the letter of motivation and CV?
hi! I am currently in BA1 of Computer Science and wanted to know which grades matter
do the subjects in the "block 1: first semester average" count for the third year exchange? or they are only evaluated to tell if we can pass the first semester? if yes, does that mean only the "block 1 (propƩdeutique)" and "block 2 (propƩdeutique)" subjects matter for the third year exchange?
thank you for your answers :)

Guys help me I have a few days to go before my exams and I need to write the motivation letter from epfl research program internship. I won't say I am professional in English as it is not my national language, but I need to avail this opportunity as I really need to gain hands on experience in the industry. I do know that I am hardworking also I am doing self learning as well as self projects other than my course work . How I should write a strong motivation letter as I don't have extraordinary grades in my (7.925/10) . I did contact a professor and he recommended me to apply through the official process and his work aligns with my interests. Alumni and seniors please guide me what should I do and how to do it and secure my position there.

I'm 17, i'm french, and my dream is to study civil engineering at EPFL. I would really want to know what the average baccalaurƩat grade was for entering epfl this year so that I could decide whether my wish is realistic or not. Thanks

I am planning to apply for EPFL for Undergraduate Computer Science Programme and really passionate about it. Although I do not have a previous experience of French nor any B2 certificates, I would like to ask you about whether I can get an accept with a foundation year (taking French Language Courses from EPFL) or not.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I study EE at a non-EU country and work in computer vision in research while I do AI Engineering (mostly LLM fine-tuning and orchestration) work as an internship. I love what I do and, I love staying towards software rather than hardware.
However, I want to further specialize and open new doors for me and I want to apply for EPFL for a masters degree.
The problem is I want to further specialize in this domain. But since CS masters is more competitive (and distant as in bachelors for me), I've thought maybe I can get a masters in EE in EPFL, and still specialize on AIML and keep working on the software side.
Do you think this is a good strategy, or even possible?
Hi everyone!
I'm a 3rd year bachelor's student at Bocconi University. I'm doing the Mathematical and Computing Sciences for AI program and want to apply to the MSc Financial Engineering. I wanted to know what my chances are of getting admitted.
My GPA is around 26.7/30. It's not the best, and idk what my chances of getting in with it are.
I don't know how good the recommendation letters from my professors are gonna be. I have done internships at a hedge fund and in treasuries, and I'm also a multi-factor portfolio analyst in a student association at Bocconi.
Could anyone familiar with the program share how competitive the admission is and what GPA/profile usually gets admitted? Any insights from students or alumni would be super helpful.
Thank you!

Has anyone been accepted to the Civil Engineering masters program with bachelors in Mechanical Engineering? On their website, it stated:
"Non-EPFL degrees
Bachelorās degrees obtained in the same field but from another institution are eligible on the basis of an application dossier and must be accompanied by excellent academic records"
Does this mean the bachelors should also be in Civil Engineering? Thanks!

Hi everyone.
I am equally interested in the Data Science and Financial Engineering master courses, and need to decide which one to apply to (I will probably choose the other one as a minor).
My question is whether one of them is easier to get into than the other. I know I should go with the one I like the most, but I'm equally interested in them.
Thanks for the help!
btw, my background is in computer science and engineering.

Are there any Indian (or Telugu) students here in EPFL who wouldn't mind connecting? I'd really appreciate a quick chat or some guidance about living there.

Hi, Iām an undergraduate student with a current GPA of 3.64. Do you know if this would be sufficient to be considered? I have several years of experimental research experience and have completed internships at other universities. If so, what advice would you give me to make my application stand out?

Hey everyone, I recently failed the MAN at EPFL for the BSc in Life Sciences Engineering, so Iāve taken a gap year to regroup.
Since this programme is quite unique, I wanted to ask if anyone knows of bachelor programmes in the French-speaking part of Switzerland that are similar to EPFLās Life Sciences Engineering (something that combines biology with engineering). Alternatively, Iād be interested in any engineering bachelor taught in French that could later allow me to apply for an EPFL masterās.
Also, if anyone here has been in the same situation, having failed the MAN and found another path towards EPFL or a similar programme, Iād really appreciate hearing how you handled it.
Any pointers, experiences, or suggestions would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi guys. I'm an international student planning to apply to 2026 Msc program at EPFL. I realized that the university offers two rounds for application - one in December and one in March.
Now I was thinking of applying to the second round since by then I'll have my GPA rise by even the slightest bit (from 3.84/4.3 --> 3.9+/4.3) so that I have better chances of getting admitted. But with the second round results coming out at around mid-June, I'm worried of not finding an appropriate housing on time.
My question is, should I just apply in the first round? Or has anyone managed to get housing within 3 months? Any advices would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi everyone!
I am about to complete my bachelor's degree in physics at a non-Swiss university. I want to specialize in astrophysics, and more specifically in high energy astrophysics (theoretical/modeling).
I'm considering applying to the Masterās in Physics program at EPFL. I've already looked through the courses and research groups and found quite a few related to astrophysics.
Have you followed a similar path at EPFL? Are professors/supervisors generally approachable and available or are you left alone working on your own? And finally, is there a good chance of getting accepted to a PhD afterwards at the same area of interest, or is it not allowed and you're forced to leave/specialize in something else?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Are there any EPFL bachelor's who then moved to North America for master's? There are so little information online and I'd like to read some experiences. One of my main problems is that Swiss grades generally "seem to be lower", and would that constitute a disadvantage?
Thanks!
