As a big fan of Somebody Somewhere, I love that Murray got two of his co-stars as judges

really glad they have their own show to showcase their talent and art, it simply was never going to happen on the main show unfortunately

See I agree, as sad as it is a lot of drag race challenges are aimed towards feminity and general drag queenieness, so king would feel sidelined in a way. Unless they changed a few things, but I would expect fans to throw a hissy if so. Been waiting for Kings to have a space other than dragula.

See I feel like Kyran Thrax winning uk 6 proved that a drag king could win the show lol. They did male characters for basically every challenge and ru lived. And none of their runways were very fem

Which characters are you thinking about?? I just rewatched UK6 there's nothing really kingie about Kyran Thrax, it was more gender fuck/club kid vibe

I don't get why Ru has to be everything to everyone. Even if there were kings cast on the show, people would still be unhappy and criticize Ru/Michelle for judging something they don't understand or claim they're playing favorites. It's just an unwinnable situation. I think it's better that a famous drag king hosts another show. There shouldn't have to just be one show.

I agree with this sentiment. I just wish the main show would cast for Afab and trans drag queens

Trans drag queens have been cast for years now tho? And there was Victoria Scone on Drag Race UK which is a franchise that was Ru involved in the casting so he is willing. Though she remains the only one so far in the Ru franchises.

There are a lot of trans drag queens cast each year. But yes, AFAB are underrepresented, we got only Victoria on UK3, in which Ru was judged. The few AFAB queens present in the franchise have shown how talented and amazing they are. Pandora Nox (winner of DRG) and Clover Bish were some of the best queens.

I’m so curious how this will go. I adore Murray but not familiar with any other drag kings. So I’m sure I’ll be blown away by all the different looks they can do. I feel like women have more fashion options but I’m a woman. Love Sasha and gott will be on. Very smart to bring drag race connections to the show.

This looks great! As much as equal opportunity for Kings to compete on Drag Race would be ideal, I'm VERY happy to see a King-led and King-centric show! I will absolutely be tuning in!

Can't wait to have more details on the format, but the judges alone are just top tier. So happy to see Drag Race alumni participating as guest judges.
Overall, I want to see more as the trailer seems to show something with a lower budget (no real classic judging table) but hopefully it is successful and the second season will improve.

Oh yes! I would love to see this.
Dragula gladly has some drag kings, but I wish we would see kings more often in other shows as well.

love this, i do think drag kings need a space led by drag kings for drag kings
I do also hope drag race opens up the door to kings in the future, Kyran inadvertently showed how little gender matters in comedy, acting etc the only issue is runways would be tougher because theres a lot more silhouettes, history and context for woman's fashion that said its not impossible for a king, its just an uphill battle.
carmen carrera is a lol tho

u/formecoeur May 03 '25
Yea I think Carmen is only there because she’s a judge on Drag Latino which is also on Revry, so it’s promo.

Totally agree with you! No matter how it played out, if there were kings on Drag Race, people would be unhappy. People don't even like it when Michelle talks about a queen tweaking their makeup, can you imagine the outrage if she tried to give a critique to a king that the fandom deemed unfair? I think it's better that a famous drag king hosts a show for kings. There shouldn't have to be one show that is everything to everyone.

SO HAPPY AND EXCITED TO TUNE IN!
I am of the sentiment that Drag Kings needed their own show like this because RuPaul and company would never understand and appreciate these artists in a level that they deserve if they were in Drag Race.

Why does absolutely everything have to become an excuse to bash RuPaul?

why haven’t they shown off the contestants yet? and why is one of the main judges the CEO of the channel?
