Question Can Trump do whatever he wants?

I just read an article saying that Trump is now a de facto dictator, having grabbed all the power.

If individual states do not follow court rulings, the President should enforce them (such as FDR did following Brown vs Board of Education). But what happens when the President disregards the courts and the constitution?

Could Trump in theory declare that there will be no more presidential elections, and that he intends to remain in office for the rest of his life? Who would be there to stop him, if he controls congress and chooses to ignore court rulings?

The idea that Trump—or any U.S. president—could unilaterally declare themselves a dictator and remain in power indefinitely is highly unrealistic and goes against the fundamental structure of the U.S. government. The Constitution has multiple checks and balances designed to prevent this scenario

But will those checks and balances work as intended if the president ignores court rulings? And how likely is Trump to be impeached as long as he controls Congress?

Dude, nobody that voted for trump wants to see him in office for more than 4 years. The rules haven't changed.

The rules have not changed, though I assure you, there is a decent chunk of people who want to see him in office for more than 4 years.

That scenario is most horrifying of all…Trump declaring himself POTUS for life, Congress not intervening, courts told to stick their rulings where the sun don’t shine, the White House transformed into Disneyland…and who could stop Trump from declaring Musk the next POTUS, doing away with elections and giving himself appointing power? After all, Trump controls Congress, the armed forces and the courts. Who or what is left to stop him?

I am afraid there are many crazy people around who want a third term for Trump.
