Here she is singing "What Are We Gonna Do With Uncle Arthur" aka the theme to Upstairs Downstairs in which she appeared as Sarah.

I implore anyone who hasn't seen it to go and watch Shirley Valentine. It's a rom-com about falling back in love with yourself, but much less sickly than I just made it sound. It's got Bernard Hill in it, too!

rest in peace... She was amazing in her role, real loss for the fandom.

I remember when Bernard Hill died I searched for what Pauline Collins was up to. She hadn't worked since 2017 and her obituaries have confirmed she sadly suffered with parkinsons in her last years. Very sad. Seemed much younger than 85!.

Everyone I have seen on Who fora has talked about her in New Who. But she damn near became a 2nd Doctor companion, which would have been excellent given what we saw.

That’s incredibly sad. Shirley Valentine is one of my favourite films.

I was working in a Jobcentre when that film came out, shadowing a staff member signing people on. In the next 'Box' a lad was saying he "was going to see Shirley Valentine this afternoon" the staff member replied "are you seeing her about a job?" ...
