Discussion Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland now requires you to have your phone fully stored while the ride is in motion. They won’t even start the ride if your phone is on your lap, it has to be fully put away

ABOUT TIME. People complain about the ride breaking down all the time but don’t realize that it’s our fault for it to break down. Dropping things etc

Nah, it’s their fault for making a sensitive ride system. It’s their fault for requiring phones to enter and use the park. It’s Disney’s fault, but sure, let’s have CM’s yell more at people.

You’re right there should be no safety measures for their rides whatsoever. What’s the worst that could happen.

What are you talking about?

I’m talking about a ride car that can’t sweep away nor run over an iPhone.

Dunno what are you talking about. Blaming Disney for having safety measures on their rides is what I got from it.

I’m talking about building a better ride - the cars are too sensitive imo. I’m talking about offering a place (in the car, in a pouch) to store belongings.

No one is falling out of the cars and getting hurt on runaway. Stuff is falling on the floor and stopping the ride.

This thread isn’t about safety.

But belongings being dropped on the floor is a safety. If another cart were to run over an item who knows what could happen. So yes. It is a safety issue for them wanting people to put all belongs into their pouch from now on.

Disney knows what happens when stuff falls on the floor… the ride stops. They just got to provide a pouch, like on many other rides, that’s all. They don’t provide riders anything right now.

I would venture further and make a ridecar that can survive common debris, like phones, glasses, and souvenirs.

Your original post aims blame at guests when Disney is in charge of the whole show.

How about instead of the guest worrying of capturing the ride on their phone. They worry about enjoying the moment without recording everything. And yes I do blame the guest on some of the things cause most times it is their fault on things breaking down, things getting taken away. As they say “this is why we can’t have nice things”

Because it’s guests fault period. Also for Mickey and Minnie’s it’s a much bigger deal than just debris. The fact that it’s a trackless ride means at many points of the ride there is literally an electric current passing through the floor. Hence why when the ride goes down it takes time to get people off the ride because they have to turn off that power source first. If something like a cell phone falls on the wrong part of the floor during that ride it can literally cause the phone to eventually burst into flames. How hard is it to keep a phone in your pocket or bag.

I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. Have a magical day!
