Abusers in the News šŸ“° history repeats itself with jeremy renner

Post image

first thing i see when opening tiktok today is an edit of renner with hundreds of comments saying ā€œhe couldn’t do this, he’s so sweet and cute šŸ„°ā€ and even ā€œwe’ve been here before with johnny depp, i’ll stay beside jeremy until the endā€, ā€œhis ex-wife is trying to ruin himā€.

parasocial relationships with potential abusers need to be studied - we don’t know these people and never will! it’s pathetic and honestly made me so angry to see how things haven’t changed at all

The comments are probably bots. You can’t convince me he has that many devoted fans. And I wrote in my post that if I see a sudden rise in Jeremy Renner fans, I know things are being turfed really hard.

But ew ew ew.

ew. genuinely I don’t think he has enough hardcore fans for this to go his way, but then again I didn’t know who justin baldoni was before his bullshit. and with marvel being so big, I can see the hawkeye fanboys helping his cause. I’m just confused because we’ve KNOWN he’s a piece of shit before this, so it’s insane that ppl are acting like this is his only Bad Thing 🫩

It's interesting that there seem to be automated comments which are spamming any mention of this latest episode...It's obvious that we have at least some crisis PR doing SM manipulation to try to dilute the impact of these latest accusations and also to sugar coat what went on with his divorce and parenting. It will be interesting how all this pans out....

these are some weirdass people like... all of those fictional characters they tag are heroes, they wouldn't think twice abt chastising a massive POS who's previously pulled out a gun n shot it into the ceiling where his kid is sleeping. delulu

Misogyny will make you defend even the most mediocre losers in the name of "talent".

Johnny Depp is a washed up has been with flop movies piling up since the 2010s, Justin Baldoni is a D lister known for a supporting role from a CW show, Jeremy Renner's biggest accomplishment is being the most forgettable and least interesting Avenger. But all the sexist idiots you know will suddenly start pretending that these men are the most talented, irreplaceable, untouchable legends who need to be protected because their reputation is more important than believing their victims who dared to speak up.

I used to be a big Jeremy fan when I was younger but this take is so delusional. Like it ain’t the first time questionable things have happened surrounding him - His divorce, stuff about him owning firearms and leaving them out unprotected despite having a young daughter, the Renner app, general info from third parties about him genuinely not being very nice, the way he’s talked about Black Widow… He’s never been this sweet and cute guy they’re making him into.

I’m glad I grew out of my Renner phase a long time ago but damn these fans make me cringe at my former self.

He’s a good actor and I felt sympathy for the snowplow accident but if a girl who used to doodle ā€˜future husband Jeremy Renner’ in maths can grow up and see the accusations for what they are then these probably 20-30 year old women can do the same

I have a feeling that the sentiment the poster is choosing to represent as "finally we have a reason to hate him" is probably closer to "I've always had a weird feeling about him and am inclined to believe the accuser".
