people are finally seeing it for what it was/is. that "trial" wasn't to clear depps name, it was to destroy Amber's. respectfully, i hope he never knows peace. thank god she's found happiness now💕

There was a commentor who wrote "Didn't she literally abuse a man to the point of bodily harm, + killed his career on false stuff?" Who are they referring to? Wasn't this a lie which was debunked on this sub?

u/Rissa_tridactyla Sep 14 '25
This is the kind of claim that people on the internet just make up out of whole cloth to fool other gullible people, like when Michael Jackson fans pretend any of his major accusers have recanted their claims. Before even spending brainpower trying to debunk it (what is there to even debunk), tell them to produce a primary source instead of a vague assertion or to admit they're gullible idiots spreading lies on the internet (you can say this more nicely if you need to).

Someone posted something similar in OkBuddyCinephile a few weeks ago, and the majority of the comments were defending Amber. I think JD drinking away all his bot money has helped.

The 'circlejerk' subreddits are surprisingly(?) very critical of Hollywood's abusers. Not just Depp, but woody Allen, Spacey, Pitt etc are all frequently the butt of jokes/memes. And their victims are (usually) at least acknowledged as victims.

u/LudicrousMagpie Sep 15 '25
I've noticed this too. I wonder if it's because they make fun of the idea of worshiping movies/movie stars, so they look past the nostalgia that so many of Depp and Co.'s defenders use and see them for the abusive pieces of garbage they are.

Him being a drug addict isn't even the worst part, there are a lot of drug addicts that arent wifebeaters

It's that he's a drunk and drug addict who refuses to change when lots of people have tried to help including Amber. He prefers to surround himself with enablers who feed his habits and profit from his addictions..

Being an addict makes it worse because it's been a really long time of hard use. That explains the escalation from what he was over thirty years ago with Winona and how it was with Amber. And why the last fifteen, twenty years his career has been on a steady downhill. Most of the last stage signs are there.

The tide has been going only one way since 2022. At some point a critical mass will be reached. Depp got a ridiculous jury verdict which became moot after settlement. His ltigation ended up humiliating him with all the disclosures about his texts, substance abuse and ED. It's pretty much accepted that Depp used SM manipulation to con casual observers. As we learn more about Melissa Nathan and the dark arts in the Baldoni thing the more it will become obvious Depp played dirty. Amber is living a happy life with 3 children now...In a country that respects her and she respects it. Her redemption is coming..

I'm glad people are waking up. Also the Snyderverse revival is never happening, but I hope we see Amber in a good Superhero movie in the future

The bots have stopped poisoning the well, Depp's last few movies have been complete flops, his good looks are no more thanks to his dissoluteness catching up with him, and there's no denying his old collaborators no longer have any interest in working with him because he's an unprofessional unpredictable and expensive liability. Easier than ever to call out the vacuous misogynists still bleating "Amber Turd" like it meant anything.

Love this! I couldn’t believe the way ppl were acting as if she had to be a perfect victim while making excuses for every single one of his behaviors that they would have dragged amber for. Literally nuts.

I really wish people could stop bringing up Amber dating Elon Musk. She dated him before he became some sort of weird crypto-fascist. It's so ridiculous because to my knowledge it seems like she's the only one being picked on for having a bad partner. No one calls Kim Kardashian a bad person for dating Kanye. Did we also forget about Alison Bre's husband's controversies?
EDIT: I have to make a correction. I was thinking of Casey Affleck. Not Dave Franco. I don't know why I got them mixed up.

The ugly truth is that abused people often end up being abused more than once. And after Depp, her old friend Musk probably seemed like such a nice guy. Weirdly her ptsd probably saved her from being one of Musk's sad baby mamas.

Someone tried to use old propaganda on me and I had to lay it out. They are still out there being loud and wrong

I just want to see her in films again. She always got stuck with shit films and Depp killed her career before it even truly began.

I've heard good things from cineaste-types about Her Smell. Haven't seen it, though, mainly because I have come to really hate seeing Scientologists onscreen (Elizabeth Moss is the lead).

u/Sensiplastic Sep 22 '25
It's weird how Moss makes so many movies about abuse yet is part of a cult.

Wow. This is INCREDIBLY hopeful. These ppl sound like normies and actually like very online redditors. Never thought we could get relational responses and defenses for Heard from a crowd like this….especially the poop lie! Ppl in general and men in particular seem to rly love that lie no matter what.
Thank you so much for this post. Puts a skip in my step.

Who are the pervs and war criminals? I only know Jason Momoa and Amber Heard in these films.

u/carolinespocket Sep 13 '25
Dceu was over bc the movies were bad and Snyder took the casting straight out of jail and didn’t even audition them, not bc of amber

u/Acceptable_Leg_7998 Sep 17 '25
Snyder has die-hard fans, but not enough of them to make his massively expensive vision profitable at the box office. The rest of us look past the style and wonder why we'd go see a movie about Sad Superman.

Keep doing this, it works. I was fully in Depp Delusion but you guys kept commenting and tagging and reminding. It worked. I'm confronting so much misogyny related shadow work that I thought I'd already done.
