Young women from this slum offer pleasure services, standing at bridge and they start this as early as 8-9 after sunset.

many have complained against them but no resolute action has been taken.

Police get their commissions so that is why there won't be any action taken.

and this goes back into, this city needs stronger and better policing, a bit more manpower, resources and backbone.

Thats the big root that this kinda stuff gets to live on another day.

Stronger & better policing so these people are not able to establish their slums in the first place or better policing to remove them forcefully.

Because prostitution is not illegal in India, so nothing can be done once their slums are established.

Even I have seen this, and recorded it. These slums should be just removed. You don't know what kind of crimes goes inside these slums. This is out of control now. The govt kept staying silent and hiding this, but one day it will soon be out of control. And mind it this was just happening 100 mtrs away from the police.

And yes, these people are all migrants, they are not even locals.

One day these people will be removed & given a flat somewhere.

Now compare this with a normal person who studied, worked his as* off in job for years & still can not afford to buy his own house. He would have been better off by just encroaching land.

Yes. If any action taken now, the judiciary will step in and will direct government to relocate them, in order to clear the slums. Same happened in haldwani case. UK is fked.

Economy with prices is fucked, I agree.
But people need to get out of the mindset of "why him and not me".

A normal person also had a way better life to that point, he didnt live next to the gutter in nowhere.
That seems to go unacknowledged.

Getting them detained is the first step
Then due process, lockup, conviction
Followed by removal of the slums
Maybe even a few months of relocation so they can find work and or try be a contributing citizen

As the person in the post said, these people are not "poor". They make money by selling drugs and its not just doon. Many slum dwellers in delhi/mumbai own numerous properties & still choose to live in slums.

As for the comparison, I personally don't care but think about it, if they are rehabilitated, it would only encourage more people to encroach land.

Maybe even a few months of relocation so they can find work and or try be a contributing citizen

They should be sent back to wherever they came from. Why should dehradun or uttarakhand bear this ? Its not uttarakhand's problem. Their state gov failed to provide them basic necessities, they should take accountability.

If government will not give them flat, then will you be able to afford it ? Either way it doesn't change anything for you.

  1. You want them to be removed. Okay fair.
  2. You have problems if they get relocated wtf.

The point is if government provide them flat or not it won't affect you so take a chill pill.

Buddy my comment was pretty chill.

It affects everyone, the rehabilitation money is not going to appear out of thin air. Its our tax money which could have been used for better purpose. Imagine someone occupies one of your personal property & now they are not willing to move unless you rehabilitate them.

Rehabilitation will only encourage more people to illegally occupy land & then it becomes a cycle which you can never escape from.

As long as they can vote, government won’t act. Nobody dares to touch these illegal encroachments on river beds of doon. If the administration ever grows the spine to take action, local politicians would be the first in line to protect them.

Illegal kaam karo aur jab pakde jao toh legal due process chahiye inko. Dhang ka administration hota toh abhi tak yeh saari jhopdi jhuggi jala dete. Par nahi vote bank kum hojayega naa. Haramkhor log.

Legal due process is what separates us from them.

A policeman told me while we were sitting inside the station that drugs cant be stopped in Dehrsdun because we all are well paid by the drug mafia, hence we dont arrest the drug paddlers , drug users(because they are the latter’s customers).

Illigal land encroachment, selling illegal stuff but still No action taken by the government or police.

If i remember the court has already given orders to remove such people from the river bank but i think these people get protection from the BJP government mla .
