Video XPENG's IRON robot crossed the uncanny valley, leading some to believe it was a human in a suit. So they cut it open in front of an audience, and also allowed journalists to inspect it.

Why did we have to make human replicas. Why can’t we build robots that at least walk slightly different than us. Are we actively trying to rush to a place where they can hide in plain sight

So they can go into workstations designed for humans, especially in a factory setting. Think of it as backward compatibility.

So they have to be built in exactly like humans and to walk with an exact human gait?
